But one bride has posted a furious rant on Facebook, demanding those offering "helpful advice" to "stick it up [their] ass".
A friend of the bride shared a screenshot of the Facebook post on Mumsnet and asked members whether they thought the woman was being rude or "understandable".
Fellow Mumsnet users were in shock after reading the furious rant.
"The amount of questions I have been asked about our wedding is getting ridiculous and by people who won't even be invited," the bride wrote.
"So to put the answer out there before anyone else asks I am going to wear my glasses and you know what I don't need to tell you why."
"Yes I am changing my name, yes I have picked my bridesmaids, yes [groom] did pick the ring by himself and yes it was a complete surprise," she continued.
"No we aren't getting married in Scotland, children will be invited but only selected ones, only Scottish people can wear kilts and yes there will be dancing.
"If you have asked one of these questions and aren't a member of our family or a close friend you can go take a hike.
"Also [groom] and I are the last people who need advice on how to plan and deliver an event so kindly take your 'helpful advice' and stick it up your ass!"
Fellow Mumsnet users were not impressed at the bride-to-be's rant with one commenting: "I doubt most people who are asking questions give a c**p about her wedding…it's just polite small talk to ask how it's going."
Another said: "There’s really no excuse for that sort of outburst.
"People ask polite questions about weddings, pregnancy and children etc to be nice. Ugh."
Another appalled user called the bride-to-be "rude and insanely obnoxious" while one wrote: "I wish she was my fb friend so I could comment that no one really gives a f***.
"I guarantee you that these people are just being polite… she needs a big ladder to get over herself with."
