Shopper claims her ear started pouring with blood after wearing Nasty Gal gold hoops once – The Sun

A SHOPPER claims she has endured weeks of pain after a pair of Nasty Gal earrings left her ear pouring with blood.

Hannah Riggans, 21, bought the golden hoops for £1.50 from the brand’s website for her summer holiday.

Hannah, from Glasgow, says she felt a 'sharp pain' after putting the hoop in her right ear.

She immediately took the earring out, but says her ear began to bleed, and it's still painful three weeks later.

Hannah said: “As soon as I put the earring in I felt a sharp pain, so slowly pried it back out of my ear.

"When I did, my ear started bleeding and it became really painful.”

She quickly cleaned the wound with a salt spray and took some painkillers, but nearly a month later her ear is still sore.

Hannah said: “After it stopped bleeding I used salt spray that I had which is meant to clean piercings.

"I also took painkillers in hope that it would reduce the inflammation.

"But even now my ear still feels tender to touch and it's hard to tell if it has properly healed.

"I just hope that others don't have the same experience as me."

Hannah added that she never expected the earrings, which were on sale, to be ‘dangerous’.

She said: “I had never shopped at Nastygal before but had always heard good things about them, so decided to look on their website for holiday clothes.

"I really liked these earrings so as soon as they arrived I put them into my ear.

"I didn't expect astounding quality due to the fact they were only £1.50 in the sale, but as they are a well-known company I didn't expect them to be dangerous.

"I wanted to share my story to raise awareness for others to avoid wearing these earrings, as they caused me a lot of pain which I am still dealing with now – three weeks on."

She claims that the company offered her a refund and promised to look in to the issue.
