Selma Blair's 7-Year-Old Son Gave Her a Buzzcut

Selma Blair is trying out a new hairstyle for summer. But instead of turning to an A-list hairstylist to do the honors, she enlisted the help of her 7-year-old son, Arthur Saint Bleick.

On Friday, June 14, the 46-year-old posted a photo on Instagram the showed her son taking a buzz-cutter to her hair. “Back to my roots,” she wrote in the caption accompanying the snap, “#zen barber who still says butthole whenever given an opportunity. I love him.”

Blair is no stranger to a shorter chop. If you remember, in the early 2000’s around the time she shot The Sweetest Thing she rocked an awesome pixie cut, which she eventually grew into a bob (her go-to for many years).

Even though this look is totally on-trend this season, that’s not necessarily the reason the Legally Blonde actress went for it. As one commenter pointed out per Women’s Health, it can be difficult for those with Multiple Sclerosis to lift their arms. “Hair is SO HARD to deal with when you can’t lift your arms above your head,” to which Blair responded “yup.”

In August 2018, the actress was diagnosed with MS and went public with the announcement in October that same year. “I have #multiplesclerosis,” she in an emotional Instagram post. “I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it. And I laugh and I don’t know exactly what I will do precisely but I will do my best.”

Since then she’s been very candid about her struggle, while seeming to maintain high spirits throughout and proving herself an inspiration to many.

The Cruel Intentions actress was all smiles when she made her first public appearance since she shared her diagnosis at the 2019 Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in February. She looked gorgeous in a multicolored Ralph & Russo gown with a matching cape and a customized cane. Not only is her attitude an inspiration, but clearly so is her sense of style.
