THOSE who own an air fryer know what a nightmare it is to get it sparkling and ready for the next use.
But although there are countless cleaning hacks, one in particular has taken TikTok by storm.
The trick, originally posted by a Aaliyah Alexus, sees the mum-of-three pouring some soap and hot water in her air fryer.
As demonstrated in the now-viral video, she then turned it on for three minutes before chucking away the filthy water.
Though the hack was praised by many on social media, one mum quickly hit back, pointing out at the dangers of this method.
Warning fellow air fryer fans, Cathy Pedrayes (@cathypedrayes) took to TikTok to urge everyone to steer clear of the popular hack.

Instead, the mum claimed it's best to wash it like you would with any other regular dish.
''Sink- dishwasher but only the basket not the whole unit,'' Cathy noted.

The clip has since gone viral and has seen numerous people thank the mum for warning them.
