Well, florals may not be groundbreaking, but they certainly are attention-getting at this seasons Milan fashion week.

Of course, it’s the Spring 2020 season that’s being presented, so there is no lack of floral prints.

Silvia Venturini Fendi presented a show that was sun-worship-worthy and all about Italian summer vacations in the sun. What could go better with the sun, than flowers? That, of course, meant floral print everything; including; bucket to visor converting hats, quilted jackets and dresses and even a mesh tote with floral mink motifs.

Then came designer Francesco Risso at Marni’s show, with its combination of sustainable fashion (upcycled textiles) to a recycled set (reused cardboard benches and recycled plastic) topped off with hairstylist wizard, Julien d’Ys organic abstract work. It was his way of keeping with the sustainability theme and involved clay and flowers in varying colors on top of models heads.

Missoni completed the budding trend with an array floral prints in classic Missoni knits and paired many looks with an array of real flowers poking out of basket purses with matching and contrasting Missoni draped fabric and fringe.
