Louisa Johnson on lockdown life changes and overcoming depression and anxiety

LOUISA JOHNSON, 22, won The X Factor in 2015 and has since released Top 10 singles Forever Young and Tears with Clean Bandit.

Here, the singer reveals her worst habit and the most famous person in her phone contacts.

What is your favourite word?

F**k. I’m sorry, but it just comes out all the time. I can’t control myself.

What’s your worst habit?

Sucking my thumb. It’s not something I want to continue, but it’s a comfort thing and I’ve been doing it since I was a baby.

It’s caused me so many problems with my teeth, but I just can’t seem to stop.

Which lockdown life changes will you keep?

I have a new-found love of nature and walking, whereas before lockdown I would have ordered an Uber to take me somewhere literally five minutes away.

I’ve also realised that I don’t need half the stuff I own, and I recently had a massive clear-out.

What makes you angry?

Rudeness. I know everyone can be a little rude from time to time, but I can’t stand when people are just downright mean on purpose.

Tea or coffee?

I’ve never drunk either!

Favourite TV show as a child?

I loved Hannah Montana.

What are your best and worst qualities?

I’m quite an empathetic person, so I can really feel people and sense when someone is upset.

However, I complain a lot – I’m a bit of a moaner.

How do you relax?

I find it really difficult to relax. The only time I can do it is when I'm asleep.

Who is the most famous person on your phone?

I just got a new phone, so no one right now! Before that, I’d say it was Simon Cowell.

Who is your celeb crush?

It’s actually a girl crush – Zendaya. I really admire her sense of style, and if I ever need a new outfit I turn to her Instagram for inspiration.

All-time favourite movie?

Just Go With It. It’s a romcom starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler – who are my two favourite actors. It’s so good!

What is your biggest regret?

I like to think I don’t have any regrets, because everything you go through makes you the person you are today.

However, I’d probably say not living in the moment as much as I should. It’s something I’ve tried to do a lot more of lately.

What scares you?

Definitely the fear of the unknown, but I’m working on it.

Which song would you have played at your funeral?

Anything by Westlife.

What’s been your greatest achievement so far?

I’d say where I am now as a person. I went through a lot at a young age, including depression and anxiety, and I’m surprised I came out the other side.

It might have gone either way for me, and I could have gone a bit crazy. So I’m proud of myself.
