HEAT styling, colouring and chlorinated pool water are just a few of the things that can make your hair weaker and cause your locks to snap.
But according to a hair whizz, there a five simple tips anyone can follow to avoid breakages.
"I think everyone should know that breakage is inevitable," he says, in an informative clip shared to TikTok (@raw.hair).
"It's going to happen…it's just the way it goes."
However, he goes on to say that people can totally avoid the drama by following several simple tips – starting with getting regular haircuts.
"I've noticed a lot of times that people just avoid getting haircuts because they want really long hair," he says.

"But that's not the best idea.
"If you want long hair, you have to be on top of your haircuts to cut off the dead ends."

Next up, the LA-based hair artist says he can't stress enough the importance ofusing leave-in products.
"Leave in products, like Pureology Colour Fanatic, It's a 10 miracle leave in product and Redken leave-in conditioner, are all great and are used to protect your damaged hair from breaking," he explains.

The hair pro then goes on to advise people take care of their hair by applying a bonding treatment.
"Products like Olaplex number 3 and Epres bonder are great bonders to help rebound your hair," he explains.
Not stopping there, the hair whizz also urges his social media followers to limit heat styling.
"Limiting the amount of heat that you use on your hair is going to change your hair drastically," he notes.
"Overheating your hair can cause your hair to break, so let's try to avoid that."
And last but not least, he says to use an at-home conditioning treatment.
"Deep conditioning treatments are extremely nourishing," he says.
"It basically adds moisture back into the hair which helps to repair damage, controls frizz, and ultimately it combats breakage."
He concludes: "Taking these five tips and putting them to use consistently will completely change your hair and your life.
