I’m 21 & a new mum but make 6-figures thanks to my bedroom side hustle – I used to work in a supermarket | The Sun

A YOUNG mum-of-one makes six figures from her bedroom side hustle – and her fortune is about to get bigger.

Maisie Crompton is just 21 years old and makes a mint running her own fashion brand Totes for You.

She creates slogan tote bags, hoodies, stationery and prints all while raising her little one.

In a recent video, the savvy lady – who used to work in a supermarket – shared a very exciting update from her fabulous small business.

Maisie chatted away excitedly as she did her make-up.

“Exciting things happened with my small business the other day so I wanted to talk about it because being a business owner right now, everything is so up and down,” she said.

I turned my side hustle into a job paying £10k a month – here are my top tips

“Especially being a mum now as well, I can’t always spend as much time on it as I’d like. But the other day was just so exciting.

“The first thing is that I’m going to have a stall in real life. It might just be a one-off thing but maybe I’ll keep on doing it.

“The thing is I’m so stressed because I’ve never done anything in real life. It’s always been an online store.

“It’s also helping out a charity so I’ll talk about that a bit more nearer the time.”

But having a stall wasn’t the only big news up Maisie’s sleeve.

“The second thing that happened is that I posted a video and I didn’t think much of it at first, but I really wanted to reach new mum creatives and do a bit of influencer marketing,” she said, discussing how she advertised her Mum Club black tote bags.

“I’ve never done it before but I feel like when you own a business you have to go a bit out of your comfort zone.

“I’ve followed a lovely lady called Sophiena [a fellow influencer] since lockdown and she ordered two of the products from my post.

“I just can’t believe it. We packed them yesterday and I’m so excited for her and her friend to get them.”

Maisie added a picture of her famous tote bag to her video.

“For reference, this is what the Mum Club totes look like,” she said, pointing at a picture of the classy bag. “They could honestly fit in everything, the picture doesn’t even show how big they are.

“The website went a bit crazy after I posted about them and I thought ‘oh my goodness, what am I going to do?’.

“I ended up putting them on pre-order and they’ll be shipped out just after I get back from my holiday.

“There’s a lot of good things happening right now.”

Maisie has thousands of followers on TikTok and they all launched into the comments to show their support.

“Love this!! So many ups and downs to being a small biz owner and a mum!!” said one.

Maisie replied: “Yes it’s crazy isn’t it. We got bad news about our supplier/new totes we are designing and then this happened.”

A second user said: “OMG you are so wonderful.”
