I bought a tatty 90s caravan and gave it a mega transformation using cheap paint and IKEA bargains – I’m in love with it | The Sun

A WOMAN has revealed that she and her partner bought a tatty 90s caravan and gave it a mega transformation whilst on a budget.

Emma Kirk, from Nottingham, explained that she had no DIY experience but took a risk and renovated her old caravan on a “very tight budget.”

Emma and her partner spent seven weeks transforming the caravan, alongside their full-time jobs.

To overhaul the tired 25-year-old caravan, the pair used bargain buys from Asda, B&M, Dunelm, IKEA and Wilko.

Emma, who posts on TikTok under the username @thecamperino, took to the video sharing platform to show off the DIY transformation.

The social media user shared a variety of clips, showing off each stage of the mega makeover.

Emma explained that she transformed the sofa cushions using rugs from IKEA.

She also noted: “We had to replace nearly all of the kitchen walls [due] to damp.”

She then explained that the couple used vinyl stickers to transform the outside of the caravan, as she continued: “No paint was used on the outside. It was polished and restickers with vinyls from eBay.”

In the bathroom, Emma confirmed that she used a green paint from Wilko, in the shade English Sage.

Emma later shared: “Totally in love with our caravan renovation on our 1997 Bailey Discovery.”

She later explained that in total, the caravan makeover cost the couple around £1,000.
