Horrified bride discovers her MUM’S wearing a white wedding dress on her big day… and documents it all on TikTok

EVEN when it's not our special day, we have a feeling most wedding guests spend as much time agonising over their outfits as the bride does.

But while we desperately try to strike the right balance between formal and not too dressy, there's just one cardinal rule you have to keep in mind: whatever you do, DON'T wear white.

Unfortunately for one bride, the only person who didn't get this all-important memo was her own mum. Yes, REALLY.

Documenting the saga on TikTok, newlywed Jane Lu only saw the dress her mother was wearing on the morning of her wedding.

While Jane opted for a slinky white gown for her special day, her mum went full-on bridal with her full-length lace frock.

As she was getting ready for the big day, Jane – who founded Australian clothing brand ShowPo -took a sneak peek of her mum's dress which was hidden away in a dry cleaning bag.

Jane said: "Just went to look at my mum's dress […] it's more bridal than mine!"

Unsure whether to laugh or cry, Jane then jumped between clips of her dress compared with her mother's gown.

She continued: "My dress was quite simple… hers looked way more bridal!"

The bride's hilarious TikTok has racked up over 170,000 views on the video-sharing platform – and users argued Jane looked like a guest at her own wedding. Awkward.

One replied: "No. I would have made my mum go and buy a different dress that second."

Another joked: "And that's when you dye your mum's dress a different colour…"

"I would have poured wine all over it," a third added. "You're a good daughter."

"When you're a guest at your own wedding," another wrote.

For more wedding horror stories, this fuming wedding photographer changed her mother-in-law’s dress in all pictures after she ‘defied the bride’ by wearing WHITE.

And this furious girlfriend was slammed for a ‘tacky’ sign moaning she’s gone 3,058 days without a proposal.
