Editor's Picks: What We're Buying at Sephora's Epic Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale

Alex Apatoff, Lifestyle Director: I decided to get serious about my skincare at age (cough) which means for the first time I have an actual product “empty” that I want to replace rather than just grabbing something random from the beauty closet. This also means that I need to wait for sales to stock up on it, because this radiance-boosting wonder elixir ain’t cheap. (Oh, and pro tip – when I went to Sephora.com, my RetailMeNot Genie plug-in informed me that it’s running an offer to get me up to $15 cash back, meaning I can spend even more … that’s how this works, right?)

Kaitlyn Frey, Style & Beauty Assistant: Like many others, I’ve been obsessed with IT Cosmetics’ original CC cream for years. So when I heard the brand was launching a new matte version of its iconic formula, I couldn’t wait to try it. Like its predecessor, it feels lightweight and provides full coverage, but this one keeps shine completely under control. And its longwear capabilities are legit: My base didn’t budge a bit when I wore it to an intense barre class.

Jackie Fields, Beauty Editor: The Good News: My skin has never looked as amazing as it does right now — and I attribute it to the seven products I’m currently using, including SK-II’s iconic essence. The Bad News: I don’t know which item is the hero in my routine, so I’m resigned to my pricey regimen until further notice. But thanks to this sale, I’ll be able to splash this on my skin with abandon (as opposed to rationing out drops, which is what I do now).

Lindy Segal, Style Social Media Editor: I’m in the process of cleaning up my beauty routine (both in terms of the sheer number of products and the ingredients I put on my skin), and I’ve been dying to try this cult-favorite moisturizer. The all-natural ingredients (no parabens, nothing synthetic) are great skin-soothers — plus, who wouldn’t want to put a pink cloud on their face? Sign me up.

Lindsey Unterberger, Contributor: If I had to stick with one hair product for the rest of my life, it would hands-down be this smoothing spray. It acts as detangler, heat-protectant and frizz-fighter all in one. I mist it on damp hair, from roots to ends, and then brush it through to evenly coat before blow-drying. It cuts my drying time down significantly and makes my blowout look like it was done by pro instead of an amateur awkwardly wielding a round brush.

Jillian Ruffo, Associate Beauty Editor: I’ve been growing my hair out for about a year now, which means I’m constantly experimenting with new shapes and sizes of curling irons, trying to find the perfect beach wave technique. This wand not only has a variety of sizes, but they’re all interchangeable, in order to take up a lot less space on my vanity. And with 20 percent off, I don’t have to worry about buyer’s remorse.

Kaitlyn Frey, Style & Beauty Assistant: I’m obsessed with trying every new dry shampoo that lands on my desk, but I always end up going back to this classic formula. It works like magic and adds some texture to my wavy ends. Added bonus: it smells divine.

Alex Apatoff, Lifestyle Director: A $16 lip balm when you can get a three-pack of Chapstick for $3 may seem crazy, but I got to try a sample of this through work and I’m absolutely obsessed. (And I’m not alone – the reviews on Sephora.com are rabidly enthusiastic.) It’s got a cult following of pro makeup artists and celebs, and for good reason – it’s the ultimate “your lips but better” sheen and just a tiny squeeze makes my lips so hydrated. I put it on while my hair dries and by the time I’m ready for makeup, all flakes and rough spots are gone.

Kami Phillips, E-Commerce Editor: There are many reasons why this NARS blush in Orgasm is an editor and makeup artist favorite; not only is it universally flattering on just about any skin tone, but the subtle sparkle leaves you with a natural, shimmering complexion for the ultimate rosy-cheek glow.

Colleen Kratofil, Style Writer-Reporter: I never understood how to reapply my face sunscreen throughout the day without completely ruining my makeup — then I found this genius refresh setting mist. A few sprays easily reapplies SPF, all while locking in my makeup and evening my complexion. I’m so addicted, I’ve used up the whole bottle this summer, so now’s the perfect time to restock my supply.
