Eagle-eyed royal fans discover Kate Middleton secretly wore TWO dresses to the coronation, so did you spot it? | The Sun

ALL eyes were on the Princess of Wales as she commemorated the coronation of King Charles at the weekend.

But did you notice Kate Middleton had a sneaky outfit change and wore two beautiful dresses for the occasion?

Official photos were released for the coronation, showing the 12 working royals standing in the Buckingham Palace Throne Room, mirroring a line-up for the late Queen’s coronation 70 years ago.

The Princess of Wales, 41, wore her blue Royal Victorian Order mantle edged in scarlet over an Alexander McQueen embroidered ivory silk crepe dress, and paired it with a jaw-dropping necklace.

But the dress was different to the one she wore for the televised service at Westminster Abbey and when she appeared on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

Eagle-eyed royal fans were quick to take to TikTok to comment on the two outfits.

User @matta_of_fact uploaded a video pointing out how one dress had a high neck, while the other was slightly more low cut to show off Kate’s diamond necklace.

In a clip which has racked up 49,000 likes, she said: “She has duped us.

“This is not the dress she wore to the coronation but it is the dress she changed into for the coronation portrait

“The dress she wore at the coronation had a high neckline, the dress she wore in the portraits does not.

“The embroidery on the two dresses appears to be slightly different.

“Two almost identical dresses, one of which you didn’t even see by the time she put on all her robes and regalia.

“What was the reason?”

Both eight-year-old Charlotte and the Princess of Wales opted for ivory silk crepe Alexander McQueen dresses for the celebration.

The mum and daughter duo arrived at Westminster Abbey along with dad Prince William, 41, and Charlotte’s brother, Prince Louis, five.

Prince George, nine, travelled separately from his family to the Abbey, with other Pages of Honour from Buckingham Palace.

Both Kate and Charlotte’s outfits also feature a subtle nod to the United Kingdom in the embroidery.

Their stylish dresses include rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock motifs to symbolise the four nations; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Kate also wore a Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen Headpiece with silver bullion, crystal and silver thread work three-dimensional leaf embroidery.

While Princess Charlotte was wearing a matching headpiece by the same designer.

Kate also paid tribute to Princess Diana, wearing pearl and diamond earrings that belonged to the late royal.

King Charles was joined by his family and world leaders at Westminster Abbey as he pledged his life to the country.

Prince Harry was among the group after he accepted an invitation for his dad's big day – although Meghan Markle remained in the US for Archie's birthday.

The Duke of Sussex was sat in the third row amid a fallout with his dad and brother after the release of explosive biography Spare.

He sat with Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank, the Queen's cousin Princess Alexandra, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edo Mapelli Mozzi.
