Baby name pro shares the worst monikers she’s ever heard – and, yes, one set of parents really did call their tot Riot | The Sun

WHEN it comes to baby names, it all boils down to personal preference.

But one baby name consultant called Jessie has shared some of the worst monikers she's ever heard – and they really are quite shocking.


In a clip shared to TikTok (@dreambabynames), she told how a few of the names are from her due date groups, before adding that they "genuinely disturb" her.

First up on her list is a child named, 'Sin.'

"This was someone that was looking for a name that'd go well with their child, 'Ransom,'" she explains.

"So they were looking for it to be the name 'Sin'…as we know the word, 'Sin.'

Moving on, she notes that she's been hearing the name 'Ransom' for years.

"It won't go away," she quips. "Why?!"

Jessie then shares another "strong" contender for her most hated baby names to date, 'Riot.'

"I just feel like it's a self-fulfilling prophecy," she quips.

Last but not least, she discusses the name, "Hoax."

Left utterly speechless, she simply says: "Hmmmm."

The video has since gone viral, garnering a whopping 315k views and hundreds of comments – with many sharing the rather unique names they've come across.

"There’s a 'Jream' in my due date group.. JREAM, like Dream, but 'jrrr-ream,' wrote one.

A second penned: "Sin, and his siblings Cos and Tan."

A third recalled: "I met a little girl named Felony."

Meanwhile, another added: "100% agree and would like to add the name Rowdy to this list…also a self fulfilling prophecy."

A further commented: "I saw Riot spelled RYEITT and cried for the child."

And one more chimed in: "Some people need to learn that a 'unique' name doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good name."
