Ashley Olsen Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance Without Sister Mary-Kate — and Even Cracks a Smile!

Among all the A-list actresses, singers, models and athletes at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, there was one attendee we didn’t expect to see at the high-profile celebrity event — Ashley Olsen.

Even more surprising? The 32-year-old stepped out at the starry afterparty without her sister, Mary-Kate Olsen, by her side, as she smiled for photographers on the carpet.

The sisters and co-designers are known for walking almost every carpet together, so it’s rare to see Ashley solo.

The star kept to her signature style aesthetic in a structured long-sleeve black dress, featuring a V-neckline and belted waist. She also sported her hair in tousled, effortless waves and completed the look with fresh-faced makeup.

In an interview with WSJ Magazine in 2018, the sisters opened up about their close relationship, admitting that they are rarely apart and collaborate on everything together.

“We do everything together,” Ashley told WSJ in the interview. “We came out of the womb doing that,” Mary-Kate added.

They compare their friendship to “a marriage and a partnership” that has its share of “ups and downs,” Ashley shared, adding, “It’s been 32 years of learning how to communicate.”

During the interviewing August 2018, they mentioned that Ashley has been considering moving to the West Coast, while Mary-Kate would remain in New York City with husband, French banker and half-brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy.

Last summer, Ashley was spotted in California taking a stroll with a man who appeared to be L.A.-based artist Louis Eisner. They’ve been linked since October 2017. She previously was seeing 58-year-old financier Richard Sachs.

Perhaps she was surveying the L.A. party scene on Sunday night before making the big move.
