Amy Schumer's Pregnancy Made Her Become a Clean Beauty Advocate

Amy Schumer may have not been feeling that mom-to-be glow throughout her challenging pregnancy, but she’s certainly been able to fake it with the help of her friend (and fellow mom-to-be) Shea, an independent consultant for clean beauty brand Beautycounter. Schumer says she was so impressed by the products, she reached out to the brand directly to see if she could help promote it. Then she and Shea chatted on camera about the “several headshots” Schumer emailed to the brand to make the case for her brand advocacy (in the video above), what’s on her “never list,” wanting to look like you just walked under a waterfall and more.

Schumer also discusses whether she’ll be a good mom, joking that she “listened to one book … I didn’t even listen to the whole book” to prepare for her upcoming baby. But, like many women, Schumer says that getting pregnant made her reconsider her beauty routine. “Now that it wasn’t just me taking care of my dirtbag self, I was like, there’s also a baby living in me, I should also be conscious of the products I’m using,” she said. One key thing? No scents. The star explains why in the full video at the Beautycounter site.

The actress and comedian, 37, is expecting her first child with husband Chris Fischer, and on Wednesday posted to Instagram a shot of the couple walking in the park, jokingly captioned “Amy Schumer And Chris Fischer set pulses racing while the heavily pregnant Schumer flaunts her growing bump.” She added “Amy is still pregnant and puking because money rarely goes to medical studies for women such as hyperemesis or endometriosis,” a reference to hyperemesis gravidarum, a form of acute morning sickness from which Schumer has suffered throughout her entire pregnancy.

Later that night, she shared a note on her Instagram stories: “Isn’t it weird when people feel annoyed at you for being full term, like ‘You’re still pregnant?’ Odd animosity towards women’s biology.”
