Will Smith and wife Jada had sex ‘multiple times a day’ at the start of their relationship… before he consulted tantric sex counselor when marriage was on brink of collapse
Will Smith enjoyed a very active sex life with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith in the early days of their relationship, but later consulted a tantric sex counselor when their marriage was on the brink of collapse.
‘We drank every day, and had sex multiple times every day, for four straight months… I started to wonder if this was a competition,’ Smith admitted during an Apple TV+ interview with Oprah Winfrey.
‘Either way, as far as I was concerned, there were only two possibilities: (1) I was going to satisfy this woman sexually, or (2) I was going to die trying.’

‘Since you’re not dead, we assume you won the competition,’ Oprah said, and Will laughed.
‘Well, it ended up being a lot more complex than that, Oprah,’ he said. ‘You know, those early day were spectacular. Me and Jada, to this day, if we start talking, it’s four hours. It’s four hours if we exchange a sentence.
‘And it’s like, it’s the center of why we’ve been able to sustain and why we’re still together, not choking the life out of each other. It’s like, the ability to work through issues… I’ve just never met another person that I connect with in conversation more blissfully and productively than Jada.
Things haven’t always been so blissful between the couple, however, with Will recounting in his new memoir how he revealed his desire of having a harem to a tantric sex counselor when he split from Jada in 2011.

Page turner: Smith’s new memoir is officially out today
The couple separated after Will threw Jada an over-the-top birthday 40th bash which he had dreamed up three years prior, according to an excerpt obtained by the New York Post.
The three-day extravaganza took place in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and included activities such as golf and hikes. Will even created a documentary about his wife’s family and hired Missy Elliot to perform after a luxurious dinner which included a 20-foot-long archway adorned with photos of Jada.
‘I was the perfect husband,’ Will wrote.
Jada, however, was not a fan of the festivities and apparently had nothing to say about it.
‘Not a “thank you,” not an “I loved it,”‘ Will said.
She demanded him to cancel the remainder of the weekend and allegedly yelled ‘CANCEL IT NOW!’ when he balked at her suggestion.

She called the bash ‘the most disgusting display of ego I have ever seen in my life.’
The couple gave each other the silent treatment for the remainder of their trip, and did not speak during their flight back to LA and in the days to follow.
Finally, enough was enough for the actor.
‘I retire. I retire from trying to make you happy … I quit — you go do you, and I’m-a go do me,’ he recalled telling Jada.
While they ‘didn’t want a divorce’, Will says they needed time to be apart from one another. He said fulfilling one another was a ‘vampiric relational model.’
This led Will down a path of spiritual exploration which saw him take ayahuasca 14 times and encounter a presence he called ‘Mother’ during eight of those experiences.

He also met with a counselor specializing in tantric sexuality, Michaela Boehm.
When asked by Michaela what would make him happy, Smith said, ‘I would have a harem.’
Yet he was unable to think of anyone when asked who he would have in the group.
‘Look, you are Will Effin’ Smith. You are one of the richest, most beloved people on earth. If you can’t have the life that you want, the rest of us are screwed,’ Michaela replied.
Will said he wanted Halle Berry and ballerina Misty Copeland in his harem, but Michaela encouraged him to add more when she showed him videos and ‘TED Talks of the most dynamic and talented women from across he globe’.
Will and Michaela thought up of 25 women for the group, but their names aren’t revealed in the memoir, according to The Post.
While Will and Jada would eventually reconcile, he did recently reveal in an interview with GQ that they no longer practice monogamy.
Last year, Will and Jada candidly discussed the actress’ ‘entanglement’ with singer August Alsina, who was 27 at the time, but the Aladdin star admitted to the publication that his wife wasn’t the only one engaging in other sexual relationships outside of their marriage.
Will also discussed the harem concept in an interview with GQ. The actor recalled working on the list with Michaela and planned to contact the women, but ultimately realised the idea was ‘horrific’.
He said: ‘I don’t know where I saw it or some s*** as a teenager, but the idea of travelling with 20 women that I loved and took care of and all of that, it seemed like a really great idea.
‘And then, after we played it out a little bit, I was like, “That would be horrific. That would be horrific. I was like, “Can you imagine how miserable?”‘
However, Will still found it helpful to discuss his fantasy in depth.
‘What she was doing was essentially cleaning out my mind, letting it know it was OK to be me and be who I was.
‘It was OK to think Halle is fine. It doesn’t make me a bad person that I’m married and I think Halle is beautiful.
‘Whereas in my mind, in my Christian upbringing, even my thoughts were sins. That was really the process that Michaela worked me through to let me realise that my thoughts were not sins and even acting on an impure thought didn’t make me a piece of s***.”
