Miley Cyrus has had a rough few months on the relationship front. First, she and her husband, Liam Hemsworth, had a very public split and then she broke up with her rebound girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter, shortly after the two got together. Can the girl catch a break?
Normally, when two people get divorced so quickly, their families are in support of them reconciling. But in Cyrus’ case, it seems like her family is more keen on her getting back together with Carter than with Hemsworth.

Cyrus and Hemsworth have only been married since December of last year. And apparently, things have been rocky since the beginning.
“They have been trying to make it work for months now but haven’t felt they were connecting on the level they were feeling when they got married,” an insider told E! News. “It’s been a rough year.”
On August 10, they decided to announce their split publicly.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for Cyrus said in a statement to People. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of [the] animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

Though to fans, it seemed like Cyrus and Hemsworth had an amazing love story, a true tale of reuniting with your true love, those who knew them closely definitely did not see it this way.
“This split isn’t shocking to people who are actually with them every day,” a source told the outlet.
“After they reunited, everyone thought they were this ‘perfect’ couple, but they still had a lot of issues. They’re not on the same page when it comes to a lot of fundamental things that make a relationship work,” the source adds. “It’s not surprising at all.”

Just hours after Cyrus and Hemsworth’s split was made public, pictures of the singer kissing The Hills: New Beginnings star, Carter, hit the internet. Carter was also fresh off of a breakup from her ex-husband, Brody Jenner.
At first, reports said that the girls were just having fun but soon they seemed to be full-on dating.
The relationship, unfortunately, ended after only six weeks.
Why Cyrus’ family wants her to get back with Carter
Though the relationship was short-lived, Cyrus’ family isn’t ruling out a reconciliation between the two women.
“It would be no surprise to anyone close to Miley if she got back with Kaitlynn again. Miley and Kaitlynn have been so close for years and will always be,” a source told HollywoodLife.

“Her family adores Kaitlynn and her sister Brandy is really close to Kaitlynn too,” the source continued. “When Miley heals, they’d love to see them reconnect in that way even forever. The romantic part of their relationship pausing has nothing to do with Kaitlynn. It truly was a ‘this is me and not you situation.’”
But right now, her family is just happy that the singer is taking some time alone.
