Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have been through a lot together. Though their relationship has endured cheating scandals and other such rumors, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and the NBA player have mended their romance and are back on track.
Khloé and Tristian’s relationship goes back to 2016 when they made their first appearance as a couple at Flo Rida’s birthday party at LIV in Miami, Fla., in September of that year (via Us Weekly). The following month, the former Revenge Body host confirmed they were a couple during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “I live here, but I’m [in Cleveland] very often,” the KoKo Kollection designer said.
By December 2017, the duo announced they were expecting their first child, but the arrival of their daughter, True, was overshadowed by cheating rumors. Just two days before True arrived in April 2018, Tristan was caught cheating with several different women, Us Weekly reported. From then on, Khloé and Tristian’s romance had been up in the air.
Now that time has passed and the Good American founder and the Boston Celtics star have been able to process their feelings, however, “Tristan has really shown Khloé that he has changed,” a source told People in August 2020. “He is an amazing dad and partner.” The two are now back together and Khloé proved how well things are going this time around when she wished her beau a happy birthday. Khloe Kardashian paid tribute to Tristan Thompson on his 30th birthday, calling her longtime off-and-on boyfriend her “best friend.” Though the TV star’s romance with the Canadian athlete has been tumultuous at times, the lovebirds are back on and are in a great place.
“The ones that are meant to be are the ones who go through everything that is designed to tear them apart and they came out even stronger than they were before,” Khloé sweetly penned alongside several photos of the couple with their adorable daughter, True, via Instagram on March 13, 2021. “Thank you for showing me everything you said you would. For the father you are. For the best friend I have in you.”
The American TV personality is so “thankful” to have a partner with whom she “can do absolutely nothing” and “it feels like everything,” Khloé continued in her caption. “I hope you know today and everyday how loved you are by me and so many. Happy birthday, TT! Welcome to 30! I can’t wait for all the memories. This is when life just starts getting good!”
Khloé made sure to praise her lover in honor of his special day, but she’s “trying to keep their relationship more private” this time around, an insider told People in August 2020. “She is incredibly happy,” the source noted, adding Khloé is hoping this can be a “fresh” start for their family.
