In a video he posted to YouTube on Monday, the movie star star recalled a time when his family took a trip to the Grand Canyon, but he was too scared to fully enjoy it.

"All my brothers and sisters and my whole family walked up to the edge, and I stayed back, scared to take in beauty," he explained. "Fear kills your ability to see beauty."

"My father was in the military and he was aggressive, and I was always scared of him," he added. "When I was a teenager, I was like, ‘I hate that feeling. I don’t like being scared,’ so I’ve spent a lifetime trying to overcome that terrified little boy."

The actor was challenged to do the stunt back in March by top YouTubers Yes Theory, who will be in attendance to take part in this wild experience. According to YouTube, Smith’s "Fresh Prince" co-star Alfonso Ribeiro, as well as "family and special guests" will also be in attendance.

Yes Theory is a group of friends who travel the world to seek discomfort and conquer fears. Will accepted the challenge with one condition: the jump is done to raise awareness and donations for international advocacy organization Global Citizen’s education campaigns.
