Wale Denies Online Flirting With SZA

The ‘Pretty Girls’ rapper insists he was just joking with his multiple social media posting about the ‘All the Stars’ singer, and was not really trying to hit on her.

Rapper Wale is playing down reports of his online flirting with R&B singer SZA, insisting he was just joking.

The “Pretty Girls” MC was invited to join SZA onstage on during her headlining set at the weekend’s, September 22-23 Trillectro Music Festival in his Washington, D.C. hometown, where they performed their 2015 collaboration “The Need to Know”.

Fans were quick to comment on the apparent chemistry shared by the two stars onstage, and after the show, Wale took to social media to gush about SZA’s beauty and talents.

Alongside a snap of himself gazing into her eyes during the gig, he wrote, “Salute to this Butterfly … shawty killed her set.. thank u for bein a friend GoldenGirl (sic).”

Wale also took to Twitter to joke about the image, quipping next to the picture, “SZA : ‘I’m not tryna pressure u (sic)… Me: Pressure me , Queen.”

His comments had fans abuzz at his apparent efforts to flirt with the star online, but the rapper, who celebrated his 34th birthday on Friday, September 21, has since returned to Twitter to insist he wasn’t really trying to hit on SZA.

“I be jokin sheesh (sic),” he tweeted on Monday.
