Valerie Bertinelli has filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Tom Vitale, 58.
The 62-year-old chef and author filed the amended petition in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, according to court records seen by People.
It was six months ago that the One Day At A Time star filed for ‘legal separation’ from her second husband.
Bertinelli cited irreconcilable differences and revealed there is a prenup in place.

The court documents also reveal that the estranged pair ‘have a prenuptial agreement to handle the split of all assets’ and that Valerie is ‘asking the court for neither to get spousal support.’
The two wed in June 2011 after dating for years.
Bertinelli and Vitale famously wed on New Year’s Day in 2011 less than a year after the financial planner asked her to marry him during a romantic trip to Florence, Italy.
They had dated for six years.

Speaking to AARP, Valerie said she was ‘shocked’ by Tom’s proposal despite them talking about ‘getting married’ in the past.
‘It was sweet when he asked me, because he was so scared. I was like, “Are you kidding me?”‘ she recalled.
She was introduced to Tom by her younger brother Patrick back in 2004, just three years after her separation from late ex husband Eddie Van Halen in 2001.
Valerie and Eddie had been married for 20 years and welcomed their son Wolfgang, now 30, in 1991. Their divorce was finalized in 2007.
Similarly to Valerie, Tom had recently become a single parent to his four children after splitting from his own spouse.

Tom told AARP that he and Valerie were both ‘coming from a tough time and wanting to move on but didn’t want to trust anyone.’
They’d go on to bond over their Italian heritage, with the e-commerce CEO gushing to the outlet that he and Valerie ‘just understood each other completely.’
He continued: ‘My family is her family. It wasn’t love at first sight; it was family at first sight.’
By 2005, Tom would move into Valerie’s Malibu home with his oldest son.

With Tom’s other three children and her own son frequenting the oceanfront property, Valerie joked that having a blended family is ‘not easy.’ She developed a close bond with each of Tom’s four kids.
Since tying the knot in 2011, Valerie had given glimpses into her marriage with Tom on Instagram, whether it be holiday photos or posed up snaps from weekend getaways.
Tom was last featured on the Food Network star’s business-oriented Instagram page in December 2019, just months before coronavirus lockdown.
On October 6 2020, Valerie’s ex husband Eddie Van Halen passed away at the age of 65 after a battle with cancer.

The sudden death of her former spouse took a toll on Valerie, who penned a heartfelt tribute to Eddie on social media in wake of his passing.
’40 years ago my life changed forever when I met you. You gave me the one true light in my life, our son, Wolfgang,’ wrote the actress. ‘Through all your challenging treatments for lung cancer, you kept your gorgeous spirit and that impish grin. I’m so grateful Wolfie and I were able to hold you in your last moments. I will see you in our next life my love.’
In 2021, Valerie revealed on the Today show that coping with the loss of Eddie has ‘been rough.’
‘It’s hard… I’ve gone to text [Eddie] a few dozen times. It’s like, “Oh, no, I can’t text him right now.”‘
