Beyonce and Ed Sheeran got their first opportunity to sing their December 2017 collaboration, “Perfect Duet,” together live yesterday in South Africa at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100, a massive event honoring Nelson Mandela’s life that drew in spectators from around the world.
Beyonce and Ed performed the song in front of one of the largest concert audiences of the year at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. The usual capacity of the stadium is 95,000 seats, but with standing room only crowds overflowing into the stadium’s parking areas, the audience at the time of the duet has been estimated to have numbered between 100,000 and 110,000.
However, the huge crowd did little to take away from the tenderness of the duet.
