Chloe Sims sparked suspicion that her on/off relationship with bad boy Pete Wicks had hit the rocks once again when she unfollowed him on Instagram last week.
And now sources have revealed to new magazine that the star has decided to give up on her “toxic” romance with Pete and cut him out of her life for good after the pair had a bust-up.
“Chloe is in love with Pete and she’s told him as much. They’d been close and spending time together again. She decided to pour her heart out to him and admit she wants to be with him and give things a proper go,” the source claimed. “But Pete backed off, insisting that as much as he does love her, he just doesn’t want to be her boyfriend.
“Chloe was really hurt and this was her breaking point. She decided she can’t keep him in her life and so she cut him out. She’s devastated because she put her cards on the table and allowed herself to be vulnerable, only to be rejected by him again. It hurts but she knows she can’t spend another Christmas feeling lonely and pining for him.”

The source revealed that Chloe, 39, had hoped Pete, 32, would grow into their relationship and decide to settle down with her so they could finally be a stable couple.
“Of course, she’s reacted emotionally because she had her heart broken again by Pete,” the source continued. “She knew it was a risk, but deep down she hoped he’d realise over time how good they are together and change his mind.”
The pair revealed in October they had been secretly sleeping together for two years and had fallen out in January, failing to speak to each other for eight months.
Opening up in an episode of TOWIE, distraught Chloe said: “I feel like we’ve just made a massive mess of a really good relationship. Now I’m struggling to return back to a friendship.”
Chloe also explained how Pete pulls away from her when things start to get serious, but will get jealous if she is seen with another man.
It looked as if the pair’s friendship was back on track after they both posted gushing birthday tributes to each other last month, with Pete even sending Chloe a bouquet of flowers.

But the source claims this recent clash signals the end of the road.
“Chloe has always been more romantically into Pete than he is about her,” the source claimed.
“Pete’s not a dirty dog, he genuinely does care about Chloe and he’s said he loves her, but he’s not in love with her."
“Pete is not the kind of guy who is going to settle down any time soon and Chloe is looking for a stable relationship – they’re at different stages of their lives.
“She’s finally realising she needs to accept that and move on. And she can’t move on with Pete in her life. It’s over for good.”
