Tom Fletcher to renew wedding vows with Giovanna after I'm A Celeb

EXCLUSIVE ‘We’re complete with three’: Tom Fletcher wants to renew his wedding vows with wife Giovanna when she leaves I’m A Celeb and says they have ruled out having more kids

Tom Fletcher wants to renew his wedding vows with wife Giovanna when she leaves the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! castle but has ruled out having more kids, saying ‘we’re complete with three.’

The McFly singer says he wants to mark their 10th wedding anniversary by following in the footsteps of Vernon Kay who revealed last week he surprised wife Tess Daley by organising a secret renewal ceremony in France, prompting campmate Giovanna to quip: ‘You watching, Tom?’

But Tom, who asked Giovanna to be his girlfriend on the same day they met when he was just 13, admits it will be hard to replicate the success of his viral wedding day speech, a reworked version of his band’s hit It’s All About You.

‘I’ll need to start planning now’: Tom Fletcher wants to renew his wedding vows with wife Giovanna when she leaves I’m A Celeb but has ruled out having more kids

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, he said: ‘Vernon has put me in it with renewing vows, I don’t think I could compete with his story so I’ll need to start planning now.

‘We’ve been married around eight years now, so maybe around the ten-year mark.

‘My wedding speech had 20million YouTube hits when I last looked, it’s become the thing I get recognised the most for.

‘When I went travelling around the world, people would talk to me about that rather than the band. I don’t know if it’s worth attempting anything like that again.’

Tom and Giovanna, both 35, have three sons together – Buzz, six, Buddy, four, and Max, two – whom the singer has looked after, alone, during lockdown while his wife has been starring in the ITV series.

And after weeks of being a solo parent, Tom is now even more convinced the couple are unlikely to add to their brood.

He explained: ‘We’re so lucky to have three healthy boys, so I think we’re probably done. Especially after the couple of weeks I’ve had, three feels like enough, we’re complete now.

‘I couldn’t imagine having anymore. It’s what we were meant to have. We’re done on the kid front.’

Podcast host and author Giovanna is now favourite with the bookies to be crowned Queen of the Castle after becoming a hit with both viewers and fellow campmates courtesy of her caring nature, which has seen her become the unofficial ‘mother of the camp.’

She’s avoided any rows or disagreements, but Tom admits he thought she might ‘crack’ when Vernon, 46, questioned her cooking.

He explained: ‘The only thing which caught her off guard is when Vernon told her how to do something with the cooking. He was like “there’s a lot of oil in the pan.”

‘I was thinking “back away, man.” She’s from an Italian family. If there’s an Italian in the kitchen, let them get on with it.’

She’s also set to receive some very Royal backing due to her friendship with Kate Middleton, who appeared as a guest on her Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast.

Asked if the Duchess of Cambridge will vote for her to win, Tom said: ‘I’d like to think so, fingers crossed.’

Tom and Giovanna are childhood sweethearts who met while they were pupils at the Sylvia Young Theatre school.

Tom describes the couple as an ‘anomaly’ for staying together for such a long time and he says he knew Giovanna was ‘The One’ from the moment he met her.

‘I asked Giovanna to be my girlfriend the day I met her’: Tom and Giovanna are childhood sweethearts who met while they were pupils at the Sylvia Young Theatre school

He explained: ‘We’re an anomaly. It’s rare when we meet people who have even known each other longer than we have.

‘I literally asked Giovanna to be my girlfriend the day I met her when she walked into assembly when we were 13, literally straight away.

‘Her surname is Falcone and so when the new kids walked in, she walked over to me as obviously my surname begins with an F as well and she was sitting next to me at assembly and I asked her out that day. I knew then…’

They broke up when they were 16 after going to separate colleges, but reconnected at 18.

‘We’re an anomaly’: Even Tom admits that the couple are unique and says it is ‘rare when we meet people who have even known each other longer than we have’

Tom added: ‘At 18 we got back together, she’d been travelling for a while, she just got back and was going to an acting college and moving into a new flat share.

‘I found out the address of her new flat, sent her a letter before she moved in so I knew it would be there when she arrived trying to get her to be my girlfriend again.

‘We’ve been together ever since, literally just before the band started in October 2003, after we moved into the band house and we released all the McFly stuff in 2004.

‘I couldn’t imagine doing it without her. It’s really difficult managing a relationship going through all that, but if two people really want to be together and make it work, you find a way and we did.’

‘You find a way and we did’: Tom said he can’t imagine being part of McFly without Giovanna by his side and despite travelling with the band, the couple managed to still together throughout

Tom and his McFly bandmates – Danny Jones, 34, Dougie Poynter, 33, and Harry Judd, 34 – recently launched their own subscription channel, McFly Total Access, the first of its kind in the music industry.

It allows fans to see exclusive content and live-streamed performances for £9.99 a month, or £99 a year.

Tom says: ‘It’s a way of us playing live to our fans and giving them content without us relying on being able to travel. Also rather than playing to a few fans in one country, we can stream it all over the world.
