The Voice UK 2021: Craig Eddie WINS the 10th series after a nail-biting final as his coach Anne-Marie bags her first victory in her debut series

Craig Eddie has been crowned the winner of The Voice UK 2021 following a nail-biting final on Saturday night. 

The Scottish singer, 23, beat fellow contestant Grace Holden from Team Olly Murs to bag the top spot and a recording contract with Polydor.

Craig’s win means his coach Anne-Marie, 29, also earned her first victory after in her debut year on the ITV show.

Craig and Grace, as well as fellow finalists Okulaja (from Team will.i.am) and Hannah Williams (from Team Tom Jones) battled it out on the night, where they each sang two songs – a solo performance and a duet with their coaches.

The audience then voted and put Craig up against Grace for the final leg of the competition in which they had to sing one more song to impress the virtual audience. 

Both artists belted out their respective winners single, with Grace singing Dream Catch Me, while Craig performed the self-penned Come Waste My Time.

In the end, it was Craig who came out on top, with the song-writer clearly stunned as host Emma Willis, 45, announced his name. 

Speaking following his win, Craig said: ‘I’m shocked. Thank you to everyone, thank you to Scotland. Thank you to everyone who voted. 

‘Thank you to Anne-Marie for believing in me and taking me to this point. Genuinely I can not express my feeling of gratitude enough.’

While his mentor Anne-Marie said of Craig: ‘I love you Craig. You are a proper artist. You’ve blossomed. 

‘You are the real deal. And I just want to say thank you for making my first show so special.’

After her loss, gracious Grace said: ‘I’ve had the best time. I’m just so happy.’

While her coach Olly Murs commented: ‘Congratulations to Anne Marie. Congratulations to Craig, you’ve been amazing to day one.’

The thrilling live final saw all four coaches take to the stage for a performance of Stevie Wonder’s Sir Duke.

While The Voice UK 2020 champion Blessing Chitapa returned to the stage to perform her second single I Smile, where she also announced her debut album will be released at the end of next month.
