The Spice Girls 'are in fresh talks to headline Glastonbury'

The Spice Girls ‘are in fresh talks to headline Glastonbury for the last show on their world tour’ with Victoria Beckham ‘onboard’

The Spice Girls have reportedly been in fresh talks to headline Glastonbury as the final stop on their world tour, which is proposed for 2023.

Fresh reports state Victoria Beckham has previously said she would perform with bandmates Emma Bunton, Mel C, Geri Horner and Mel B if it were at a festival.

And despite a source telling The Sun the influential quintet will not be reuniting for the Queen’s Jubilee as claimed last month, the girls could be set to make history on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage next year.

A source close to the girl band said: ‘There have been bumps in the road, particularly where Geri is concerned, but the plan is still that the girls’ world tour will go ahead next year.

‘The idea is that it will kick off in 2023, and finish at Glastonbury. Victoria has previously said that she would perform with them at the festival. So that would be the perfect way to round off the tour.’

MailOnline contacted The Spice Girl’s representatives for comment.

It was reported last month the best-selling girl group of all time had been invited to reunite for a celebratory concert to mark the Queen’s Jubilee by BBC bosses.

However, the source explained how this prospective appearance has since been ruled out, as a result of ‘different projects’, ‘logistics’ and ‘time.’

Emma Bunton – Baby Spice – and Mel B – Sporty Spice – were said to be ‘very disappointed.

‘It would have been a real honour, and that was not lost on them,’ the source added.

Whilst on tour last month, Mel C was quizzed on whether they would accept the BBC’s offer to perform during such a momentous milestone.

‘You’re going to need to ask Geri about that one. We have not discussed it yet,’ had been Sporty Spice’s response.

Acts confirmed for the Jubilee celebration are George Ezra and Becky Hill, with more artists expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
