The Rock Drinks a Truly Unfathomable Amount of Water Every Day

Drinking enough water is a very important part of your health, and while that “eight 8-oz. glasses of water a day” rule is a good place to start, some nutrition experts say that the average man should go for about 125 ounces of water a day, and women should reach about 91 oz.

But, of course, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is no mere mortal, and in a recent Instagram post, he revealed that he drinks an astounding amount of water—four gallons a day, to be exact.

Johnson was announcing that he had purchased a stake in Voss Water, making him part owner. “The idea of owning water always intrigued me – partly because I drink 4 gallons a day💧😁 and want to deliver it to the world. But finding the right partner with shared values, ethics and a corporate culture I admire is what motivated me to make this deal.”

While you may be tempted to follow The Rock’s lead (I mean, he is amazing), four gallons a day is probably too much water for the average person. The Rock’s intense workouts probably burn thousands of calories at a time, and he needs to replace all the water that he loses through sweat.

If you want to know how much water you need for your workouts, the general rule is to drink about 8 oz. of water for every 20 minutes of exercise, and you can also opt for a sports drink if you’re really sweating it out.
