The first teaser trailer for The New Pope was released on Thursday.
And Jude Law returned to his role of Pope Pius XIII in an unexpected way for the HBO show, as he flaunted his taut abs while walking in white swimming trunks.
The actor, 46, was fawned over by bikini-clad women as he strolled along the beach, before giving a charming smirk to the camera while winking.

Jude’s white trunks left practically nothing to the imagination and he oozed body confidence while sporting the tiny bottoms.
And his sizzling display certainly set pulses racing, with women playing volleyball around Jude and keeping him in their sights as he walked past.
Walking past another woman dressed in an ethereal blue-and-white dress, the sight of Jude and his unholy trunks made her faint.
John Malkovich also appeared in the trailer and mirrored Jude by walking through the Vatican in full papal garb, before being met by a large group of loyal followers.

Jude first played Lenny, who became the first American pope in history and took the name Pius XIII, in The Young Pope, which first hit screens in 2016.
The latest series takes up after The Young Pope’s cliffhanger ending, which saw Pius XIII confronted with a moment of weakness that threatened to destroy his papacy.
According to Variety, The New Pope will not be a ‘second series of The Young Pope’ but instead a ‘second limited series set in the world of the modern papacy’.

Filming for the nine-episode series started in Italy last year, Paolo Sorrentino has created the series with Umberto Contarello and Stefano Bises.
HBO and Sky announced the follow-up to acclaimed limited series The Young Pope in May 2017, with Sky Italia chief of content Andrea Scrosati saying: ‘Just like The Young Pope, Sorrentino is writing the script for the new show, but it will have a different twist than what would be expected.’
The New Pope is expected to be released in 2020, and will be screened as part of the Venice Film Festival this month.
