The most stunning celebrity prom photos of the season

If April showers bring May flowers, then what do May flowers bring? Prom season, y’all! Yes, it’s that time of year, when high schoolers summon the gumption and the courage to ask their crush to accompany them to their junior or senior prom. Cue the quest for the right dress, learning how to pin a corsage on your bae’s lapel, and securing only the slickest mode of transportation to the big event. For so many teens, this is a huge night, and an affair they will look back on fondly years down the road.

In addition to slow dancing and gazing into each other’s eyes, prom is also a special time to be among friends, who together have made the sometimes arduous trek through high school. Often it’s the last time everyone can party and celebrate together until graduation, when everyone prepares to go their separate ways, to college and beyond.

It’s not just regular Janes and Joes who attend prom, either — plenty of our favorite teen celebs have shared snaps of their big night on Instagram. Read on to see some of the most stunning celebrity prom photos of the season.

Gaten Matarazzo

If you’re not watching Stranger Things, what are you even doing with your life? Certainly you’re missing out on the chance to see young actor Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, alongside acting legends like Winona Ryder and David Harbour. We won’t spoil the plot for you, but suffice it to say, things get turned pretty upside-down.

Matarazzo scored an audition for the supernatural Netflix drama after finishing his run in Les Misérables on Broadway. “I originally read for Mike and then I got called back in for Dustin,” he recalled in an interview with Denise Mallabo. “I had a Skype interview with the Duffer Brothers and flew out to L.A. for a screen test. When I got back home, I found out I got the role.” That was some casting done well, as Matarazzo has made the part all him.

The actor shared an album of prom photos on his Instagram page, and looks totally adorable in all of them in his black and white tux and red rose corsage. “Junior prom with my best friends and the most beautiful girlfriend ever,” he wrote in the caption. Awww!

Sofie Dossi

One of the great things about the reality television boom is that it brings amazingly talented people like Sofie Dossi in front of a national audience. The self-taught contortionist and hand-balancing artist (have you seen her videos, y’all? They’re nuts) was a finalist on America’s Got Talent in 2016, where she also received the Golden Buzzer from Reba McEntire. Try not to get chills watching that!

Dossi thoroughly enjoyed her time on America’s Got Talent, calling it the best experience of her life, and crediting it for helping her push her boundaries. “Getting the Golden Buzzer was the most euphoric moment ever,” she recalled in an interview with Everly Mag. “It doesn’t get much better than glittering gold raining down on you and a huge audience plus celebrity judges giving you a standing ovation!” That’s definitely a once in a lifetime experience, for sure.

Dossi posted a triptych of prom photos on her Instagram page, looking amazing in a short, form-fitting magenta dress with her curly hair cascading down her back. She also showed us her girl squad, which is the literal definition of #SquadGoals. Teach them how to slay, boo!

Lexi Jayde

Emerging actress Lexi Jayde first appeared on screen back in 2012 in the television movie Stolen Child. Since then, she’s landed a variety of roles, including Emma in the 2014 family film Lucky Dog, and in 2018 she appeared as Kim in the Netflix original series Alexa & Katie. In addition to acting, Jayde dropped her debut single “Whatever” in early 2019, showing that she also has chops as a singer. And hey, don’t forget that she’s a triple threat, ’cause our girl has moves.

Jayde has been in over 20 musicals in her life, so it’s quite obvious that the acting bug is in her DNA. “I think I was born an actress,” she exclaimed in an interview with Glitter. “As far back as I can remember, I always loved to perform and be in front of the camera.” Additionally, she can’t imagine ever being anything else — way to follow your heart and pursue your dreams, girl.

The actress and singer took to Instagram to share an album of prom photos, showing off her stunning figure in a long black dress, and a handsome date on her arm.

Madisyn Shipman

Actress Madisyn Shipman is definitely one to watch. Known best for starring in the role of Kenzie Bell on Nickelodeon’s Game Shakers, Shipman has also snagged roles in films like The Peanuts Movie, and Ordinary World alongside Billie Joe Armstrong. It’s probably not going be long before she gets cast as the lead in major films, as our girl is no longer, well, a girl! We’re definitely keeping our eye on her.

Shipman does more than act, though — she’s quite the adept musician as well. “A day without my guitar is like a day without air,” she revealed in an interview with Girl’s Life. “I’ve been playing since I was 7, and being able to play my favorite music after a long day of work is seriously an obsession!” Maybe she’ll drop an album before long, too.

If you’ve caught an episode of Game Shakers in the past, you won’t believe how stunning and grown up Shipman looks in the prom photos she posted on her Instagram page. Decked out in white lace and feathers, Shipman attended the dance with her good friend Hayden, who rocked the all black tuxedo, complete with bow tie. Yas, queen!

Gia Giudice

It might be hard to comprehend, but Gia Giudice, daughter of Teresa Giudice, is all grown up. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is the eldest of her siblings, and believe it or not, is college bound. Although she got into several universities, including Penn State, the University of Alabama, the University of Scranton, and Quinnipiac University, the reality star is headed to Rutgers University, according to a post on her Instagram page. You can’t blame her for not wanting to go too far from home — she’s a true Jersey girl, after all.

Giudice’s mom is nothing but proud of her daughter, and has every confidence that she will make a bright future for herself. “Gia’s very mature, very grounded,” she gushed in an interview with The Daily Dish. “She knows what she wants.” Atta girl! She’s a real chip off the old block.

Of course Giudice wouldn’t miss prom, and shared a photo of herself on Instagram radiating total elegance. Sporting a long, lacy dress from Coco’s Chateau and adorned with a matching wrist corsage, Giudice looked ready for the red carpet. Maybe that’s coming up next!

Storm Reid

Actress Storm Reid landed the role of a lifetime when she was cast as Meg in A Wrinkle in Time, alongside legends like Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling. Before that, Reid had a variety of roles, such as Emily in 12 Years a Slave, Cassandra in White Water, and Patricia in A Happening of Monumental Proportions

Insofar as the future, Reid has some ideas of what that might look like for her, including working more with director Ava DuVernay. “I’ve seen what she’s doing, but I want to shadow her for a week, just to see what she does when I’m not acting and she’s giving me direction,” she explained in an interview with Collider. “I’d like to hopefully do it, in the future.” Those are some impressive ambitions, Storm!

A vision of creamy lace and flowers, Reid was looking absolutely gorgeous in her prom night pictures, which she posted on her Instagram page. She accompanied by actor Sayeed Shahidi, who looked dashing in his black and white tuxedo.

Sam Dezz

Sam Dezz is a rising social media star, with his sandy blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and chiseled young physique. When he’s not posting Q&A sessions on YouTube or sharing shirtless selfies on his Instagram page, the aspiring model is probably hanging out with his dogs, surfing in the ocean, or kicking a ball around the yard. “I’ve been playing soccer for a long time now,” he shared in a YouTube video. “It’s like, the best sport, in my opinion.” No doubt that keeps him active and toned!

Dezz isn’t afraid to open up about the deeper stuff as well, including an incident where he says he actually almost died. One time, he fell down the stairs after his ankle gave out, and hit his head really hard. “It was awful,” he recalled in another YouTube video. “There was blood everywhere.” Fortunately he only needed a few stitches, and was pretty much okay!

Our boy was all smiles in the prom picture he posted on his Instagram page, showing off his braces-free pearly whites. With a red rose pinned to his lapel and a lovely date by his side, Dezz showed his fans he was off for a night to remember.

Ty Simpkins

Child actor Ty Simpkins is growing up fast. Known for his work in blockbuster films like Jurassic World and Avengers: Endgame, Simpkins already boasts a resume that’s seriously impressive, especially for someone so young. He’s also done work for television in shows like Chimerica and video games such as Lego Dimensions. This guy is pretty well-rounded, that’s for sure.

Simpkins had a humorous response when asked what he would do if he was the president of Earth. “First of all, there would be world peace,” he shared in an interview with Film. “Pugs are gonna be the royal dog. If there is a pug in the family, they are the leader of the house.” Not gonna lie, but we are totally on board with that plan, you guys!

Simpkins was every bit the dashing young man in the prom photo he posted to his Instagram page. He sported a traditional tuxedo, while his date went fresh-faced and wore a stylish blue dress, long brown hair loose at her sides. “Prom 2K19!!! So much fun!” he wrote in the caption. That’s the stuff that memories are made of.

Haley Tju

California girl Haley Tju has been acting since she was 4 years old. Initially she appeared in Disney Channel shows like Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, graduating to her breakout role in Bella and The Bulldogs on Nickelodeon. After that, the scripts came pouring in, showing just how in-demand the young actress had become. You can catch her in a number of television shows, such as K.C. UndercoverKung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, and Trinkets, to name just a few.

Once Tju broke out and became famous, she realized quickly the importance of staying humble. “It was so much fun, but you can get carried away in that mindset,” she revealed in an interview with Taylor Magazine. “It’s absolutely crucial to have a good support team — my family is so grounded. It’s a luxury to have that side of work because it’s not always glamorous and it is a lot of hard work.” Clearly she has a good head on her shoulders.

Tju posted her prom pictures on Instagram, sporting a too-cool-for-school look complete with a leather jacket over her pink dress. Love it!

Amelia Gray Hamlin

It seems inevitable that Amelia Gray Hamlin, the youngest daughter of Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, was destined to become a model. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star found fame at an early age on reality television, and has emerged in her own right as a social media celebrity.

Hamlin knew from a very early age that modeling was her calling. She first realized it when she was 12-years-old, when she started to cry at a fashion show out of an overwhelming sense of beauty. Fast-forward to the pivotal moment that Hamlin signed with IMG Models — the same company that the Hadid women work with. “Signing with IMG has always been my dream,” she revealed in an interview with W magazine. “When my mom told me that I would be signing with IMG I was in my kitchen and I actually thought my family was playing a really sick joke on me. When I found out it was true, I started to cry.” Congrats, girl!

Hamlin stunned at her prom in a form-fitting, bright red dress paired with white kicks in a photo her mom posted on Instagram. That’s how you do it, girl!

Jake Warden

If you needed proof that the kids are indeed alright, head over to vlogger Jake Warden’s YouTube channel and settle in for some amazing makeup tutorials. The young social media star is part of the growing movement of boys and men who wear makeup and aren’t afraid to share that with the world. With over a million subscribers, Warden is a pioneer in bending gender and bucking traditional societal norms — and we are absolutely here for it.

So what’s Warden’s favorite makeup look, with so many options to choose from? “Boy glam, which is a boy, but a pretty boy,” he explained in an interview with The New York Times. “That’s foundation, concealer, mascara, gloss and done.” Sound like anyone’s daily work routine? Bueller? Bueller?

While Warden didn’t attend his prom this year, he did post an adorable photo on his Instagram page to commemorate the occasion. “prom last night with my mans…lmao jk this was hoco [homecoming] cuz I didn’t go to prom…also peep the makeup all over Mickey’s face from me kissing him.” Well prom or not, Warden is slaying lewks and taking names, as usual.

Chloé Lukasiak

Actress and dancer Chloé Lukasiak was introduced to the world on Dance Moms, a television show that shows just how intense and emotional the world of children’s dance can be. After four years appearing as a regular on the show, Lukasiak was ready to fly the ALDC nest, and has since become quite the online celebrity. With over six million Instagram follows and nearly two million subscribers on her YouTube channel, it’s clear that Lukasiak has successfully made the transition from young dancer to social media star.

In addition to dancing and influencing, Lukasiak has also started acting in films, a new frontier for her. In addition to that, she has some advice to herself, when she was five years younger. “I would tell her to worry less,” she confessed in an interview with Teen Vogue. “Everything works out as it should, there’s no reason not to be confident in yourself. You have to be your #1 fan. Worry less, be more confident.” That’s some sagely advice, and definitely wiser than her years.

Lukasiak has to miss her prom because of a prior commitment, but she still shared a dolled-up selfie on Instagram in honor of the occasion.

Ariana Biermann

Kim Zolciak-Biermann is one of the OG stars of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which means her eldest daughters Brielle and Ariana grew up accustomed to having a camera in the home all the time. That, in turn, meant that all of America could watch them grow up, given that the series started all the way back in 2008. It feels like only yesterday the siblings were just kids!

For Ariana, being a reality star from the get-go also meant she had to adjust to an insane amount of scrutiny. “It’s a lot to deal with. I struggle with it because people know how to get under my skin and people know the things that bother me,” she confessed in an interview with E! News. “There’s so many that it actually makes me laugh. I’m glad you think I’ve had all this work done.” Let the haterade flow off you like water off of a duck’s back, Ari.

In any case, you’d be hard-pressed to argue that Ariana looked anything other than stunning in the prom photos she posted on Instagram. Her white lace dress flowed beautifully and complimented her amazing complexion. Gorgeous!
