The Farrows fire back at NY Mag and Soon-Yi over explosive interview

Dylan Farrow and Ronan Farrow have fired back at Woody Allen’s wife Soon-Yi Previn for the explosive accusations she made against their mother during her interview with New York Magazine.

“I owe everything I am to Mia Farrow,” Ronan said in a statement. “She is a devoted mom who went through hell for her family all while creating a loving home for us. But that has never stopped Woody Allen and his allies from planting stories that attack and vilify my mother to deflect from my sister’s credible allegation of abuse.”

Calling out the journalist behind the interview, Daphne Merkin, Dylan said: “The author has written about her friendship and infatuation with Woody Allen. The idea of letting a friend of an alleged predator write a one-sided piece attacking the credibility of his victim is disgusting.”

When New York Magazine contacted her about the article — in which Previn accuses Mia Farrow of abuse — they “described multiple obvious falsehoods,” Dylan said.

“[Merkin] suggested that my mother bribed me to lie with a doll that was not manufactured until years later,” she explained. “The story still includes bizarre fabrications about my mother while failing to mention that a prosecutor found probable cause of abuse by Woody Allen and that he was in therapy for his unhealthy fixation on my body.”

Dylan, 33, claims her Allen molested her when she was 7-years-old. The actor is her adoptive father.

“My mother never coached me,” Dylan said. “But she did stand by me, even when Woody Allen unleashed hell on her via lawyers and publicists and allies like the author of this piece.”

Dylan described the abuse as being part of a “documented pattern of inappropriate, abusive touching.” This “led a judge to say there was no evidence I was coached and that it was unsafe for me to be in Woody Allen’s presence,” she added.

In a separate statement, Ronan and other family members showed their support for both Dylan and Mia.

“We love and stand by our mom, who has always been a caring and giving parent,” the family said. “None of us ever witnessed anything other than compassionate treatment in our home, which is why the courts granted sole custody to our mother of all her children. We reject any effort to deflect from Dylan’s allegation by trying to vilify our mom. While we would rather not have to speak publicly about this painful time in our lives, we also couldn’t be silent as she is once again unfairly attacked.”

Ronan, who won the Pulitzer Prize for breaking the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal, went on to blast New York Magazine and Merkin, specifically — calling her a “longtime admirer” of Allen’s and the article a “hit job.”

“As a journalist, I’m shocked by the lack of care for the facts, the refusal to include eyewitness testimony that would contradict falsehoods in this piece, and the failure to include my sister’s complete responses,” he said. “Survivors of abuse deserve better.”

Numerous others were condemning the magazine on Sunday night for allowing Merkin to handle the piece, including staffers.

“The decision by NY Mag (disclosure: I write for NY Mag) to have @DaphneMerkin write the Soon-Yi Previn profile is quite disappointing,” tweeted writer Yashar Ali. “To have a Woody Allen sycophant (read Daphne’s previous writings on Woody) profile Soon-Yi isn’t journalistically sound….[the] piece brings us nowhere close to understanding Soon-Yi, it’s just a slew of attacks on @MiaFarrow.”

New York Magazine had earlier put out a statement defending the story and saying they had mentioned Merkin’s relationship to Woody Allen.
