And just like that, the Ludendyk-Burnham family is growing! Former Bachelor Arie Ludendyk Jr. and wife Lauren Burnham Ludendyk announced via a December 2020 YouTube vlog that Lauren is pregnant. The couple revealed the news six months after Lauren suffered a pregnancy loss, an experience they openly discussed in a video message to fans. “We’ve read a lot of your comments. So much overwhelming support for us, and it just really put a smile on our faces because this has been a really tough week especially for Lauren, but we’re getting through it day by day,” Arie said in the clip.
The Arizona-based duo is already parents to daughter Alessi, who they welcomed in May 2019. Arie and Lauren didn’t plan the pregnancy, and when they found out about the news, they decided to go ahead as planned with their January 2019 wedding in Hawaii. “Everything has been quick, so it’s kind of fitting in that way!” Lauren joked to People about the pair’s relationship timeline.
So what’s surprising about Arie and Lauren’s pregnancy news? Some fans will be shocked to find out the answer!
Lauren and Arie Ludendyk are seeing double
Arie Ludendyk shared a sweet family photo on Instagram with daughter Alessi holding a sign reading “big sister, July 2021.” Arie captioned the shot, “And then 2020 redeemed itself!” for the holiday-season announcement.
Yet two days later, Arie and Lauren Ludendyk both posted images of a sonogram, with Lauren writing, “We may have one left out one small detail.”As for that “small detail”? In a vlog uploaded to the couple’s YouTube channel on Dec. 21, 2020, the two captured the moment when they learned that they’re expecting TWINS! “Two? No way,” Arie exclaimed. “Oh, my God. You’re kidding me. Are you serious?” Lauren was as equally as shocked, saying, “How wild is that?” Interestingly enough, Arie has identical twin brothers.
To follow along with the parents’ journey, fans can check in with the “Luyendyk Twins” Instagram account, which has 37.2k followers as of this writing. The due date listed in the bio is July 3, 2021. Congrats, Arie and Lauren!
