Tess Daly has presented as part of Strictly Come Dancing for almost two decades and has since hosted alongside fellow presenter Claudia Winkleman. The Strictly star has recently spoken out on her role on the popular series as she admits she has no plans to leave the show in the near future.

Appearing on Gabby Logan’s podcast The Mid Point, Tess spoke out on her future presenting the show.

After Gabby questioned how long Tess could see herself presenting on-screen, Tess replied: “I don’t know as long as they’ll have me.

“I guess, just as long as it’s a joy. I enjoy it so it just feels like part of my life that I love.

“You don’t want to give up a part of your life that you really enjoy do you? Whilst it’s still there.

“So I haven’t really thought beyond that. Me and Claudia joke all the time we will never leave!”

She went on to talk of how even when she does leave, she will always remember her time on the series.

Tess added: “When we do leave and someone else is on it we will be todgering around the supermarket singing to each other [Strictly theme tune] just so we can remember how it was.

“We laugh about it a lot, but we both [her and Claudia] love the job we are doing we’re both lucky to be doing it and no it’s not quite time to throw the sequins just yet.”

The presenter also spoke of how Strictly is not only a big part of her life; it has also become a big part of fans’ lives too.

She added: “I love it, I just talk to people like I know them because they talk about Strictly in the supermarket.

“Wherever, you know, and people just start talking to me about it because it has been a part of their lives and so they sort of feel like they know you.

“It’s just a nice easy conversation and suddenly you don’t feel like you’re talking to a stranger because it’s sort of a shared experience.”

When Tess started presenting as part of Strictly she was pregnant with her eldest daughter Phoebe.

Tess has previously spoken of how her daughter’s age relates to her time on the series while talking to You magazine.
