“Teen Mom” stars Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra were shocked when they found out Bristol Palin would be joining the cast for the upcoming season, dubbed “Teen Mom OG.”
“At first we were a little blindsided by it because no one told us … so that was a little interesting,” Lowell told Page Six at Monday’s MTV Video Music Awards. “Other than that, we don’t know her … I’m not going to go into it with any, like, animosity or anything. I’d love to meet her and go from there.”
Lowell said she’s been talking to the show’s producers and is trying to set up a formal meeting with Palin and the cast mates.
Her beau Baltierra added that the cast would “welcome her with open arms,” noting, “She got the opportunity and she took it and we don’t blame her.” He said he also wants Palin to know that “going forward there’s no reason to be wild and crazy with each other.”
Palin, a former teenage mother who is reportedly making $250,000 in her first season of the dramatic reality show, will join original cast members Lowell, Amber Portwood, Mackenzie McKee and Maci Bookout when the series comes back in the fall.
