Susanna Reid enjoys glass of wine after being teetotal for two months

Is Piers Morgan a bad influence? Susanna Reid falls off the wagon after two months sober on a boozy lunch with her GMB co-host (who promptly posts the evidence online!)

  • Susanna, 47, was pictured with a glass of wine after going two months without alcohol
  • Good Morning Britain co-host Piers, 53, cheekily commented ‘wagon wobbling’ underneath the picture
  • Susanna stopped drinking and shed a stone earlier this year after her doctor warned she was at the top end of the BMI scale
  • Yet she broke her teetotal run with a glass of white wine as she quipped that she ‘doesn’t have to pretend to be a nice person’ when she’s around Piers

She has been teetotal for two months to maintain her one stone weight loss.

But Susanna Reid proved she was back on the wine as her Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan shared a picture of her enjoying the alcoholic beverage on Friday, before Susanna joked that she ‘doesn’t have to pretend to be a nice person’ when she’s around him.

‘Wagon wobbling,’ Piers teasingly captioned the snap which saw the brunette beauty, 47, raising the wine glass to her lips.

Susanna’s alcohol indulgence comes after she revealed she was ‘ditching the booze for a month’ after late night partying at GQ Awards in September and had since been teetotal for two months.

While the TV presenter has shed two stone after her doctor warned she was at the top end of the BMI, she admitted she still misses ‘letting my hair down’ with alcohol.

‘Not pretending to be a nice person’: In another picture, which appeared to be from the same outing with Piers, Susanna held up a cheeky quote on a piece of paper

During an recent interview on Is It Just Me? podcast, the Good Morning Britain star shared: ‘When you cut alcohol out that is an easy couple of pounds.

‘As you get older your memory is affected. I just thought “alcohol is not great for your memory”, she added.

Despite touching on the benefits of being teetotal, the former BBC host admitted she misses alcohol.

While it’s fantastic that Susanna has embraced a healthier lifestyle, it’s fair to say that she has never appeared to be overweight.

Many experts have criticized the body mass index for being a fairly limited measure of the health of our weight, yet it still remains the most popular.

According to Medical News Today, ‘Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on your weight in relation to your height.

‘It applies to most adult men and women aged 20 and over. For children aged two and over, BMI percentile is the best assessment of body fat.’

You calculate your BMI by dividing your weight in kilograms by the square of your height in metres.

For adults, a BMI under 18.5 is considered dangerously thin, 18.5-25 is the healthy weight range, 25-30 is overweight, and 30 or over is obese.
