Strictly's Will Mellor broke down in tears as he and pro partner Nancy XU got their highest score of the series tonight's episode, with 29 points, leaving them at the top of the leaderboard (joint with Helen Skelton) for the second week running.
Week 11 of Strictly Come Dancing was all about musicals, and former Hollyoaks actor Will performed an elegant Foxtrot to Sun And Moon from Miss Saigon.
His skills earned him plenty of praise from the show's judges, with Oti Mabuse lauding the "softness" of this dance, telling them: "I just felt this flush of emotions going up and down because there was so much going on."
Shirley Ballas praised him for his "beautiful footwork", whilst Craig Revel-Horwood described the dance as "thoroughly gorgeous".
Up on the scoring platform, Claudia Winkleman said to Will: "Watching you received those comments, you looked quite emotional…" as Will interjected: "I am an emotional person, you know what I'm like, I'm useless aren't I? I just get emotional."
He continued: "I don't know, it's just, it's amazing when people who know what they're talking about [the judges] say you've done a good job, it just feels great, you know."
As the judges flashed their scorecards to reveal that Will had netted 39 out of a total 40 points for his dance, he and Nancy jubilantly wrapped their arms around one another.
As Claudia reiterated that it was Will's highest score of the series and he was sat at the top of the leaderboard, he looked visibly overcome with emotion as he exclaimed: "Unbelievable, unbelievable, wow, thank you."
Tonight wasn't the first night on Strictly that WIll's emotions got the better of him, as he also broke down on week 9 of the series, after dedicating his performance to his late father.
His dad, Bill, died suddenly in 2020, just a few weeks after finding out he had cancer, and Will has previously said that it was his dad's death that pushed him to do Strictly.
A VT showing Will and his Strictly partner speaking ahead of their dance, which earned them huge praise from the judges, as Will spoke about his father's death and his love for his mother.
The father-of-two broke down after his performance, and when speaking to hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, he said: "I can't talk," whilst his pro partner Nancy could also be seen in tears.
Back to tonight's episode, Helen Skelton also earned her highest score of the series, getting 39 out of 40 and joining Will at the top of the leaderboard in tandem.
