Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to dominate the box office with $33M weekend… and becomes one of top 10 highest-grossing films of all time

Spider-Man: No Way Home continued to dominate the domestic box office as it added another $33million to its intake over the past week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Tom Holland and Zendaya-starring feature, which was originally released this past December, has remained at the No. 1 spot in theaters since it was made available to the public.

The Marvel Comics-based film currently holds a whopping domestic intake of $668 million.

The media outlet also reported that ‘male moviegoers ages 18-34’ made up a majority of the film’s audience over the past week.

Spider-Man: No Way Home has now overtaken Titanic, which grossed $659.4 million, not adjusted for inflation, on the top 10 list.

It is currently projected to overtake Avengers: Infinity War, which took in $678.8 million following its release.

However, it remains to be seen if the feature will outperform Black Panther, which grossed $700 million.

Spider-Man: No Way Home has also broken the global top ten list, and it currently stands in the number eight spot with a gross total of $1.53 billion.

Trailing the feature is the animated film Sing 2, which earned another $12million for a worldwide total of $190.8million.

The Jessica Chastain-led spy film The 355 came in third place this week, as it opened to a domestic gross of $4.8million.

Although doubt has been cast on Holland’s future as the character, producer Amy Pascal clarified that he would return in more films for Sony.

The web-slinger was previously the focal point of a rift between Marvel Studios and the media giant, although it was later resolved. 

‘We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies,’ she told Fandango. 

A potential release date for a future Spider-Man feature has not been set as of yet.
