Simon Cowell ends explosive feud with Sharon Osbourne over the phone

Simon Cowell has buried the hatchet with Sharon Osbourne after a bitter feud.

In March Sharon claimed Simon booted her off ITV show X Factor for being too old – an accusation which left his camp reeling.

Then two months later, the 66-year-old said she would never work with the music mogul again, blasting: “I can’t work with Simon Cowell I’m not a bulls **  and he can't deal with people that tell him the truth.”

She also previously labelled Cowell a “fing pain in the a” who “will do whatever” to get his “fing fat face on TV” and said she wanted to DROWN him.

She also branded performers on X Factor as “fing karaoke”, adding that they are “little sh***”.

But talking to the Mirror ahead of tomorrow night’s BGT: the Champions final, Cowell said that him and Sharon had subsequently been in touch since her incendiary comments to clear the air.

And he has even left open the door for her to return to a future version of the show.

He said: “I phoned her up the other day and said “Look, I’ll be honest with you.

"How could I criticise you for being mouthy when it’s the reason I hired you in the first place?!

"Sharon gets a bit carried away but deep down she’s got real affection for the shows.

“There will be other versions of these shows, I am sure, and she is always welcome back. If ever she had an issue, I’d be on a plane in 5 seconds, she’d do the same for me.

“I know that about her. There’s absolutely no bad blood at all and I like I said, when people think I’m annoyed with her, I’m not! She’s a good friend and always will be.”

Sharon claimed earlier this year she had snubbed other work in the US on the Fox network to work on X Factor before being dropped.

She said: “I turned down the show Masked Singer. I was signed on to do another show at the time.
