Simon Cowell admits he and Amanda Holden ‘went too far’ with Botox

Simon Cowell, 59, admits he and Amanda Holden used ‘too much’ Botox as he brands throwback clips of their smooth faces ‘hysterical’

  • The judge said he and Amanda have laughed at old clips of their smoother complexions
  • Simon admitted last year that he had a face lift, but did not confirm when
  • In 2014 Amanda said that she stopped having Botox after the birth of her daughter Hollie in 2012
  • Simon once claimed that having Botox ‘added 10 years’ to his career

He admitted to undergoing a facelift last year that ‘hurt like hell.’

And Simon Cowell has now said that he and his Britain’s Got Talent co-judge Amanda Holden may have gone too far during the so-called ‘Botox Years.’

The legendary judge, 59, also told The Mirror that he’s been left in hysterics by old clips of him and Amanda, 49, sporting their significantly smoother complexions.

We’re done! Simon Cowell has said that he and his Britain’s Got Talent co-judge Amanda Holden may have gone too far during the so-called ‘Botox Years’

Speaking ahead of the latest semi-final for BGT: The Champions, Simon said: ‘I love watching ”the Botox years.” All of us are like, ”Christ, we had a lot that year. Not so much that year… maybe a bit too much that year”.’

‘You know, the old clips of us are hysterical, Amanda’s always like, ”What was I thinking?”, I said, ”Well, I don’t look a lot better.” I look all right now, but certain years it was like, ”Wow’, I don’t know what was going on”.’

Simon has been open about using Botox in the past, and even reportedly gifted his co-stars £350 vouchers for the treatment.

His former co-judge Sharon Osbourne has been equally candid about her surgical procedures, and recently unveiled the results of her fourth facelift.

In 2014 Amanda also confirmed that she had given up Botox following the difficult birth of her daughter Hollie in 2012.

Speaking on This Morning she said: ‘Everybody knows that in the past, yes, I’ve talked about having Botox.

‘Since spending too much time in intensive care after nearly losing a baby, I’ve not gone under the knife or had any injections.

‘But I have facials, I buy things from well-known chemists, it’s not how I look physically, it’s how my husband and how I feel about myself.’

Pictures taken throughout the years suggest Simon started having Botox injections from around 2009 onwards.

Last year, Simon admitted to having the facelift – but didn’t say when, and said the procedure ‘hurt like hell.’

He told The Sun that he visited cosmetic surgeon Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh, known as the ‘Picasso of dermatology’, for a Silhouette Soft Lift.

He underwent a non-surgical ‘sewing bioplastic-infused thread’ facelift that set him back £2000.

Transformed: Simon has been open about his use of Botox over the years, and even reportedly gifted some of his TV colleagues gift cards for the procedure (above in October 2010)

Toning it up: Last year Simon confirmed that he did have a facelift and it ‘hurt like hell,’ but did not reveal when the procedure took place (above in October 2014)

Throwback: Simon once claimed that using Botox ‘added 10 years’ to his TV career, but that he regrets going overboard with the procedure (pictured above in March 2016)

Simon explained: ‘For me now, it’s all about having clean skin. If you have clean skin, you look better. But you have to be very careful with some of this stuff.’

‘There’s lots of things you can do now. You don’t just have to stuff your face with filler and Botox. It hurts like hell but it gets rid of sun damage and unplugs all the cr*p.’

Simon once claimed that using Botox ‘added 10 years’ to his TV career, but that he regrets going overboard with the procedure.

He said: ‘Hopefully I look better now – I probably did have a little too much Botox a couple of years ago, because everyone on TV has it.

‘Now I have facials, but nothing too extravagant at the moment. I have a girl who comes here and does a great face massage – it’s very relaxing. I also had a sheep placenta facial once, which was quite out there.’

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions continues on Saturday at 8:15pm on ITV.
