Greg’s shirtless snap comes after Amber broke her silence on social media following their shock split.

The Love Island star, 22, who won the 2019 series with the Irish hunk, spent Saturday night mending her broken heart by staying in London with her villa co-star Anna Vakili and her sister Mandi – which they documented on Instagram.

In footage shared on Mandi’s stories, Amber was sat at a table surrounded by boxes of cheesy pizza and slices of buttery garlic bread as Mandi narrated: ‘We are having a girls’ night in, as usual.’

The lookalike sister of Anna, continued: ‘Here come the fat comments and the fat DMs.’

The camera then zoomed in on newly single Amber and Mandi said: ‘Amber needs pizza, and ice cream, and love.’

Seemingly happy in the company of her pals, the former beautician peered up and replied: ‘Best friends ever.’

Following their girls’ night in Amber then lashed out at trolls who had slammed Anna and Mandi for not letting her ‘heal in peace.’

Defending her Love Island co-star, the Newcastle native took to her Instagram stories to pen a lengthy statement.

‘This woman is the best friend I could ever wish for she supports me 100%.

‘She has made me feel so good over these past few days and these comments need to stop.’

Amber added: ‘I’m happy so why’s everyone else so bothered. She’s trying to make me happy not you so go about your business please.’

‘I love you soooooo much @annavakili_’

Amber’s message of gratitude to Anna comes after she is said to be ‘devastated’ as a result of Greg reportedly dumping her by text last week.

A source told The Sun that Greg had used their busy careers as the reason behind ending things, with Amber blindsided as she was due to fly to Ireland to stay with him this weekend.

The insider revealed: ‘Amber feels used by Greg. He was always aware of the distance and his career in their relationship, and yet he chose to seek out Amber in the villa knowing there would always be the distance.

It’s over: Amber’s message of gratitude to Anna comes after she is said to be ‘devastated’ as a result of Greg reportedly dumping her by text last week

‘Amber is devastated, she thought he was a lovely guy, but he’s made his feelings clear over text, which isn’t very sensitive.

‘She had a feeling he was going to make decision to end things but only because she’d been hearing things – he hadn’t the decency to tell her himself.’

MailOnline have contacted Amber and Greg’s representatives for comment.

Amber and Greg were crowned the Love Island champions in July, splitting the £50,000 prize money between them.

The couple – who got together just two weeks prior – beat Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, who had been seeing one another for 54 days.

They have now broken the record for the shortest ever relationship had from winning the show, as they have split after just 39 days.

Last month, Amber spoke about the struggles she and Greg faced making their long-distance relationship work.

Speaking on This Morning shortly after their win she admitted she was under no illusion that it’ll be easy to maintain her relationship with Greg once she returned home to Newcastle and he resides in Ireland.

Amber insisted: ‘I don’t think it’s going to be easy but if you want to make it work… I’m not stuck in one place.’

As hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes asked whether she was in love, Amber reasoned: ‘I couldn’t possibly say that… It’s going really well.

‘In the villa we kept things moving slowly and we want to continue doing that.’

The unlucky-in-love star flew to Ireland last month to visit her beau, but it’s not believed that Greg came to Newcastle after filming for Aftersun was complete.

Amber had a tumultuous time in the Love Island villa, she was initially paired with Callum McLeod – who was the first boy to be dumped from the series just five days in. This led to a platonic coupling with Anton Danyluk.

Michael Griffiths – a fellow original – then told Amber he had feelings for her and they coupled up. But when Amber was whisked away to Casa Amor, Michael’s head was turned by Joanna Chimonides.

When Amber returned to the main villa, Michael had re-coupled. Amber was left single once again. She told Michael she still liked him, but he rejected her advances.

Later, in a shock dumping, Joanna was sent home alone, leaving Michael single again – and conveniently interested in Amber once more. It was at this point Greg was sent in.

Amber enjoyed a date with the rugby pro and was tasked with choosing between him and Michael, ultimately choosing Greg. Michael ended up being voted out.

They survived the final dumping and odds then plummeted on them scooping the prize.
