Shakira 'moving with her two sons to Miami' following split

Shakira ‘moving with her two sons to Miami as singer dates new man’ after splitting from her cheating fiancé Gerard Pique, Spanish media claims

Shakira will reportedly have started her new life in the States with her two children by the end of next week, Spanish media say after she reportedly began dating a mystery man in the city.

It emerged last month the Colombian singer-songwriter, 46, was looking at April 1 to make her move to Miami with her sons Milan, ten, and Sasha, eight following her split with the children’s father Gerard Pique, 36.

Respected Spanish showbiz site Vanitatis said on Friday, Shakira had told those close to her and the medics who have been looking after her elderly parents that she will leave Spain for good by the end of the week.

It reported: ‘A large part of the singer’s close circle already knows she’s leaving.

‘The children stopped participating in extra-curricular activities like baseball some time ago’.

‘But well-placed sources say that in Esplugues de Llobregat near Barcelona where the youngster has been going regularly to train and play games, they have been told the youngster won’t return.’

The publicised also reported that the children will not be returning to their schools after the Easter break.

MailOnline have contacted Shakira’s reps for comment.

Shakira expert Laura Fa, one of two journalists who regularly report on the mum-of-two for Catalan newspaper El Periodico, said earlier this month the artist was looking at a new date of April 1 to leave Barcelona with her children after initial reports it would happen at the end of the school year in June.

That was before her mum Nidia Ripoll was hospitalised in the Catalan capital after a blood clot was found in her leg.

Her 91-year-old dad William Mubarak’s poor health was initially cited as the main reason she dropped plans to move to Miami at the start of the year after signing a child custody agreement with Pique in December.

The couple, who split last May after 11 years together, confirmed in November they had reached an agreement after a protracted negotiation which came to a head with a marathon 12-hour meeting with their lawyers. They signed the accord at a court in Barcelona the following month.

As part of the agreement retired footballer Pique, now dating 24-year-old Catalan beauty Clara Chia, will spend holiday time with his children.

Shakira’s wish to move to Miami, where she used to live and part of her family are based, is understood to have been the principal sticking point in the former couple’s previous failure to strike an out-of-court settlement.

Vanitatis is saying Shakira, her parents and her children will all live together when they reach Miami.

New romance: Gerard and his new girlfriend Clara Chia, 23, have been on the receiving end of his ex’s barbs in diss songs the Colombian beauty has released since their break-up last year

The artist, who has relatives and several close friends in Miami, owns a £14 million mansion in the city she is said to have put up for sale in 2018 before removing it from the market a few months ago.

At the start of the week Spanish media claimed Shakira may have found love with a new man in Miami – however the singer denied the claims.

News website OK Diario said it had been told the she met the mystery man several months ago before she penned her latest diss song targeting Pique and his new girlfriend Clara Chia.

The former Barcelona defender’s relationship with Clara Chia, who has just turned 24, emerged shortly after he and Shakira announced their split.

The singer-songwriter performed her diss track with Argentinian DJ Bizarrap, in which she fires poisoned darts at Pique and his new girlfriend, on the Jimmy Fallon late-night show last month. She went on to talk about her break-up with the former footballer.

Pique said in a subsequent interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais he was ‘very happy’ following the dramatic changes in his life which have included the split with Shakira and retirement from football.

He also shut down a question about Shakira in the interview but added: ‘Each parent has the responsibility to try to do the best for their children.

‘It’s about protecting them. That’s the work of all parents with their children. That’s what I’m focused on and that’s my job as a father.’
