Scooter Braun’s Company Is Reportedly Connected To A Group That Funds War & Genocide In Yemen

As interested observers dive deeper into Scooter Braun’s purchase of Big Machine Label Group from Scott Borchetta for over $300 million, disturbing things are coming to light.

The most disturbing, perhaps, is the report that Braun’s company Ithaca Holdings could only have finalized the purchase of Big Machine thanks to an infusion of cash from the Carlyle Group — a minority shareholder in Braun’s company and a very controversial organization in their own right.

Never heard of Carlyle Group before? You’re not alone. They’re a holding company that provides funds for, among other things, the various private military contractors that produce the jets made in Saudi Arabia which are currently bombing the nation of Yemen.

Connect the dots on that one, then, and Carlyle Group has loudly been criticized lately for effectively funding the war in Yemen, and the horrific genocide against innocent Yemeni people. The company also holds at least partial ownership in a variety of other companies (including a 50% stake in Supreme, oddly enough), but it’s the blatant war profiteering that makes them HUGE money — and makes them look terrible.

Carlyle Funded The Big Machine Purchase?!

The issue with Braun, according to reports, is that Carlyle directly contributed cash to aid the Big Machine purchase and bring Ithaca’s valuation over $800 million along the way; it’s unclear whether the super manager’s Ithaca Holdings would’ve even been able to purchase the label without Carlyle stepping in to share alleged war profits with Scooter.

Twitter users began to investigate the connection earlier this week, as you can see (below):

Wow…

It’s yet another reported misstep for Braun, who seriously underestimated the backlash he’d get for purchasing Big Machine — and Taylor Swift‘s past music catalog — in the first place. As we’ve been reporting early Tuesday morning, Braun has been said to have since reached out privately to the You Need To Calm Down singer, but she’s apparently not down to hash things out with him just yet.

And now, Scooter’s Ithaca Holdings is allegedly tied to a war profiteering company — which, all things considered, is one of the more disgusting industries to which one can be connected. As more light is shed on the Carlyle Group, we’ll see if any long-term consequences come from this; at the very least, this is NOT a good look!!!
