Rylan Clark to front Ready Steady Cook reboot WITHOUT Ainsley Harriot

Rylan Clark-Neal set to present Ready Steady Cook reboot WITHOUT legendary former host Ainsley Harriot… after new role hosting Supermarket Sweep

Rylan Clark-Neal has further solidified his position as one of TV’s most in demand personalities as he looks set to front a reboot of the legendary Ready Steady Cook.

What’s more, the 30-year-old will do so without Ainsley Harriott – who became synonymous with the show after presenting over 1,000 episodes.

The BBC favourite will return in 2020 after being axed, with the now 62-year-old at the helm, nine years ago.

Essex-born Rylan told The Sun on Tuesday night: ‘I’m so excited that Ready Steady Cook is finally coming back to our screens.

‘To be asked to host such an amazing show for the BBC is such a privilege. After making the finals of Celebrity MasterChef. I know how tough cooking under pressure can be.’

Rylan is a favourite of the national broadcaster, already presenting a Radio 2 show, the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, and their Eurovision coverage.

The Sun report that BBC bosses said that the new-look Ready Steady Cook will explore contemporary food themes, from cooking on a budget to eating healthily, mirroring the changes in food and British cooking in recent years.

Household names such as Gino D’Acampo and James Martin have the original show to thank for launching their careers.

In each episode two contestants are each paired up with a chef after using just £10 to buy ingredients for a delicious meal that they have to cook in 20 minutes.

The second challenge sees the time slashed in half, with contestants then tasked with creating a dish based on audience ingredients cards.
