Ryan Gosling was described as a “vocal powerhouse” by superstar music producer Mark Ronson, who worked with him on the soundtrack for Barbie.
The Hollywood star volunteered to fly to London to record the song I’m Just Ken, putting his musical talent on display in the emotional number.
Ronson gushed: “He really got [that] it had to walk this line of not being funny or parody.”
“But obviously, the song is also kind of ridiculous at times,” the songwriter added to Vanity Fair.
“So he was really amazing, and when he really did start hitting the big notes, I was like, this dude is a vocal powerhouse!”

The revelation comes after Barbie star Margot Robbie revealed how her fuming friends reacted after her character avoided locking lips with Gosling in the Barbie movie.
In one scene in Greta Gerwig’s new blockbuster flick, Robbie’s Barbie and Gosling’s Ken face each other in an extremely awkward moment.
Barbie appears to snub a snog with Ken, leaving Robbie’s real-life pals understandably upset.
Throughout the film, the two seemingly lack an on-screen spark, leaving Robbie’s circle questioning the star after the major movie’s release.
Speaking of the reaction in a new interview, Margot was asked if she was happy that she didn’t “properly” kiss Ryan in the chart-topping flick.

She told PEOPLE: “Uh no! That didn’t feel like a win for me!
“All of my girlfriends were like, ‘Well you did a whole movie with him and you don’t kiss? What’s wrong with you? I thought you were kind of in charge on this one!’
“I was like, ‘I know, I can’t check that one off my list’.”
Gosling responded: “It was so funny trying to figure out what their idea of kissing might be. I’m so glad all of that got cut out.”
