The Loose Women star’s fans also loved her top tip and couldn’t wait to shower Ruth with praise.

While one called the tip “life changing”, another wrote: “Brilliant advice never thought about that, was crippled up on the floor yesterday wrapping presents”.

Sharing a snap of their pet dog Maggie sunbathing, Ruth also showed off a festive bow on one of the lanterns in their garden.

Fans of the couple recently vowed to “switch off” This Morning on Fridays after the pair “graciously” confirmed there will be a “changing of the guard” on the ITV show from January.

Reposting identical statements to their Instagram accounts, Ruth and Eamonn addressed fans after ITV confirmed news of the hosting reshuffle.

In response, fans of the couple, who have been regulars on the show for 14 years, have vowed to “switch off” as Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary become the show’s new Friday hosts.

Both Ruth and Eamonn wrote: “It’s a changing of the guard on Fridays from January. We hope you make Alison and Dermot as welcome as you’ve made us over the years. Have a ball you two!

“It’s not goodbye from us, it’s simply au revoir until the next half term.”

Celebrity friends of the couple, who celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary this year, jumped at the chance to show their support.

Celebrity chef John Torode commented on Ruth’s post: “Gracious… so very gracious,” adding underneath Eamonn’s that he intends to see the pair before Christmas.

Although there is plenty of support for the new duo, fans of Ruth and Eamonn took to the comments disheartened and upset by the change with some vowing not to tune in on Fridays until the pair are back in the holidays.

One said: “I wouldn’t be as graceful as you Ruth. The decision is laughable and an insult to you and Eamonn. I will not be watching on Fridays without you two,” prompting a flurry of agreement.
