Ruth Langsford, 60, sent a sweet message of support to Dr Alex George after he uploaded a snap on Instagram where he admitted struggling to process his brother’s sudden passing. The This Morning presenter was one of the first to comment on the heartbreaking post, as she suffered a similar loss last year when her sister Julia committed suicide.

“My condolences to you and your family and may your darling brother rest in peace.”

The TV presenter revealed: “My lovely sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness. My heart is completely broken.

An inquest at the time discovered that Julia’s death was a suicide.

The landscape gardener was found in the garage of her home in Lingfield, Surrey, where she lived with husband Paul Johnson.

Julia had long battled with mental illness, but on her last visit to a psychiatrist, her mental state had “settled”, and her appointments were dropped to one every six months.
