Ruth and Eamonn recreate Gaga and Bradley's Oscars moment

Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes transform into Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper as they recreate their controversial Oscars duet

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s electrifying chemistry during their performance of Shallow at the Academy Awards in February made headlines the world over.

The image of the two artists cheek to cheek serenading one another over the piano became one of the most iconic images of 2019 and, as is customary, Heat magazine recreated those memorable moments in their Christmas issue.

In the festive issue, on sale from Tuesday, a team of photographers and stylists recreated the steamy Oscars moment, with Ruth Langsford, 59, and Eamonn Holmes, 60, transforming into the duo.

‘I have to say, when I saw that performance at the Oscars, I wouldn’t have been happy if that was you, Eamonn, and I was sitting in the audience. I thought there was way too much chemistry,’ Ruth said of the chemistry-filled moment.

Eamonn joked that Ruth must know what it’s like to sit beside a ‘simmering sexpot’ before being shut down by his wife.

‘But you know what it’s like to sit next to a simmering sexpot when you’re presenting. How you keep yourself under control, I have no idea,’ said the Irishman.

Ruth retorted with laughter: ‘What, Rylan [Clark-Neal]?’ adding, ‘No, we do have chemistry, don’t we?’

‘Explosive, said Eamonn, with Ruth responding: ‘Arguing, mostly!’

Split: Four months after his Oscar’s performance, Bradley ended his four year relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk and they co-parent daughter Lea De Seine (pictured in January)

During the Oscars ceremony in February, Bradley and Gaga gave an incredible performance.

Gazing into one another’s eyes, the A Star Is Born co-stars sent viewers into a spin with their tune, which minutes later was named the winner in the Best Song category.

Gaga’s appearance at the Oscars was the first time she had been seen since ending her engagement to her fiance Christian Carino, 50.

While the newly single Gaga walked the red carpet alone, Cooper arrived hand-in-hand with his mother Gloria, and his girlfriend Irina Shayk.

At the time, Ruth waded into the debate and admitted she would have been furious had she been in Irina’s shoes on Sunday night.

Festive fun: Heat magazine have tried to recreate all of the most memorable celebrity moments in their Christmas issue, on sale from Tuesday

‘I thought it was overly intimate, with his girlfriend in the audience!’ she said while hosting This Morning with her husband.

‘I would not have liked to have been in the audience if Eamonn was singing like that!’

Following the show, Gaga was forced to deny that the pair were in love. They starred in A Star Is Born together and she said their closeness was nothing but acting.

She told Jimmy Kimmel: ‘Yeah, people saw love, and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see.’

Four months after their performance, Bradley and Irina ended their four year relationship, but have remained amicable as they co-parent two-year-old daughter Lea De Seine.
