Russell Crowe is known for his commitment to his craft.

And the 55-year-old actor appears to have gained a significant amount of weight for his latest film, Unhinged, in which he plays a psychotic stalker.

He showed off his fuller figure at Sydney Airport on Sunday, September 22, alongside his friend, Britney Theriot.

Russell has flown back to his native Australia to visit his remote property in NSW.

At one stage, he was seen readjusting his pants, before casually slipping back into conversation as if nothing had happened.

Britney is a Louisiana-based real estate agent, but previously had a small role in the 2013 movie Broken City, which Russell also starred in.

There is nothing to suggest there is anything romantic between the pair.
