Royal Family Members Wish Baby Archie a Happy First Birthday on Social Media

Members of the royal family are coming together via social media to wish Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a happy first birthday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Instagram account, Kensington Royal, posted a throwback photo of Archie’s christening featuring Prince William and Duchess Kate, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, as well as Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

The caption read, “Wishing Archie a very happy first birthday today! 🎈”

Queen Elizabeth’s Royal Family Instagram account also wished the one-year-old a happy birthday, sharing a photo from the first time the reigning monarch met a then-newborn Archie.

“Happy Birthday to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor who is celebrating his 1st birthday today! 🎈🎉 Archie is The Queen’s eighth great-grandchild,” read the caption of the throwback post.

The well wishes for Archie mark the first public mentions of the Sussexes on royal family members’ social media since the couple’s decision to step away from their roles as senior working royals. The Sussexes along with Archie have since relocated to Los Angeles to start their new lives away from the monarchy’s spotlight.

Harry and Meghan honored their young son’s birthday today by participating in Save the Children’s #SaveWithStories campaign. In a video filmed by Harry himself, Meghan is seen reading Duck! Rabbit! to baby Archie, who adorably giggles throughout the shared clip. The #SaveWithStories campaign helps raise money for children being impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic here in the United States, as well as the United Kingdom.
