Robbie Williams ‘set to make his acting debut in The Greatest Showman sequel with his friend Hugh Jackman’

Robbie Williams will reportedly make his acting debut star in The Greatest Showman sequel after his actor friend Hugh Jackman offered him the job. 

The Let Me Entertain You hitmaker, 45, recently joined his actor pal, 50, on stage for the London gigs of his The Man. The Music. The Show. tour in June. 

And Hugh was allegedly so impressed with Robbie’s performance, The Sunday Mirror reported the actor wants to have the singer play a part in the sequel.

A source told the publication: ‘The Robbie and Hugh bromance is just going from strength to strength. 

‘Hugh wants space to be made for them to do a number and sing and act in his Greatest Showman sequel.

‘Hugh and others are staying quiet until deals with Fox Studios are secured, but he is going to be a producer which means he will have a say on the cast. Robbie even doing one number would be fun.’

MailOnline went to Robbie Williams’ representatives for further comment.

It is not known whether Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Keala Settle will reprise their roles from the original film. 

Robbie joined Hugh on his The Man. The Music. The Show. tour which included soundtracks from the album The Greatest Showman backed by a live orchestra. 

The Greatest Showman tells the true story of how P.T. Barnum and his troupe become a worldwide sensation and give birth to the showbiz world.

Earlier in the year, director Michael Gracey teased there was talk of making a sequel for The Greatest Showman.

He told The Sun: ‘When a movie becomes as big a success as this, it’s only natural there is demand for a sequel. So those discussions have started and we are working on one right now.’    

For the moment, Robbie has been enjoying some well-deserved time off with his wife Ayda Field as they holiday in Formentera.
