Rihanna has been very busy becoming the Number 1 Avon Sales Lady in her district, but she is also still a world-renowned pop star. As such, you can still catch her in between makeup tutorials recording or performing music. But one place you will never see Miss RiRi is the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show, because she has made it clear that she is not about that life.
UsWeekly is reporting that Rihanna said “no, bitch” to headline the Super Bowl LIII (that’s 53 for those of us who don’t speak Roman Numeral) Halftime Show. A source says that Rihanna turned down the biggest American musical performance of the year because she “supports Colin Kaepernick.” That crush he has on Rihanna is going to blow up. Now’s your chance! Slide into those DMs, Colin! The insider says:
“The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta… They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”
You remember Colin was the first NFL player to kneel during the national anthem, which caused a huge controversy and still does today, and he hasn’t played in the league since the 2016 season. Colin has since filed a grievance with those hyper masculine douche bros at the NFL, accusing them of purposely ruining his career.
After turning them down, the NFL sifted through their list of alternates and chose Maroon 5 to headline. They also are still trying to get Cardi B to show up for a while too. An insider said:
“Pepsi, the NFL and Cardi are all interested in her performing more than just her ‘Girls Like You’ verse.”
A different source tells Entertainment Tonight that RiRi and Pink were both in talks to do the halftime show, but that negotiations took so damn long that both moved on. That source claims Colin Kaepernick’s name never came out during the talks.
Not only does she smoke weed wherever she damn well pleases, she also swerved Drake before he could fuckboi her, dumped a billionaire because she was “bored”, became the Pope for a night, and now she is single handedly taking on the NFL in the name of Colin Kaepernick!
Although I have to say, I think a part of her turning it down is because she has been so busy with her Fenty Beauty she has not had time to record very many new songs. What’s she gonna sing at the halftime show? “Hey guys! Here’s my newest track ‘Ode To A Highlighter Stick’!” And I also have a feeling that her album sales are going to go up because Tomi Lahren-types are going to buy her albums just to burn them. That’ll show RiRi!
